Hi sisters and brothers,

I like the drama Descendants of the Sun – the 2016 South Korean television series starring Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo, Jin Goo and Kim Ji-won.

I like the drama because I like the career of the lead actor – captain Yoo Si-jin. He is an captain and team leader of Alpha Team – a fictional elite special forces team of the 707th Special Mission Battalion in South Korea. He receives his orders to be deployed on a peacekeeping mission in the country of Uruk (present day: Iraq).

I also like the career of the lead actress – doctor Kang Mo-yeon. She is a cardiothoracic surgeon who works at Haesung Hospital. She is also a leader of a voluntary medical team to Uruk.

I often dreamed of becoming a peacekeeper during my childhood. One of my initial English learning motivation (when I was 15 years old) was to become an United Nations volunteer in an United Nations peacekeeping mission.

The drama has given me an occasion to live my dream.
