Prayer 803

The prayer series

The story you teach us is great –
“The parable of the wedding banquet.” (Matthew 22:1-14)

The king here was God.
The king invited some special persons to come to a wedding banquet for his son.
It meant that God invited some special persons to come the kingdom of heaven.
Special persons here were those who have studied the Bible for a long time, or gentle persons, or persons who do more good things and less bad things…
God invited those who were deserved to come to the kingdom of heaven,
“But they refused to come.”

Although God earnestly invited them again,
although God prepared dinner by himself,
although God told in detail what were for dinner, and everything was ready,
“But they paid no attention and went off—
one to his field, another to his business.”
Even worse,
“The rest seized [the king’s] servants, mistreated them and killed them.”

Then the king said to his servants,
“Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.”
“So the servants went out into the streets and
gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good,
and the wedding hall was filled with guests.”

“But when the king came in to see the guests,
he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.
He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’
The man was speechless.”

The man here was the person who was not deserved to come the banquet.
However, the king still invited him.

Although he had no merit,
but at least he should have tried to create a bit of merit by dressing appropriately for the occasion.
However, even small thing like that, he didn’t do.

I feel sorry for persons
who refused to come your banquet
and who got in without formal clothes.

When we are not ready,
we can not come into the kingdom of heaven,
even when God earnestly invites us.

Wishing that I always come to your banquet when you invite me,
and I always get in with beautiful clothes and a pure soul.

I love you, Jesus.
