Trong Phật triết, Sati (tiếng Pali) là niệm, hay chánh niệm, là một trong 8 nhánh Bát Chánh Đạo. Ý nghĩa nguyên thủy của Sati có thể nằm trong pháp Thiền quán Tứ Niệm Xứ – quán thân (nhìn cơ thể), quán thọ (nhìn cảm xúc), tâm (nhìn tâm trí) và quán pháp (nhìn những giáo huấn căn bản của Phật học). Trên thực tế, niệm (hay chánh niệm) có nghĩa là tập trung “nhìn/quan sát” một điều nào đó.

How to deal with the fact that Vietnamese still favor boy over girl, and that there is an imbalance in male-female equilibrium in the population?
To deal with that problem, we need to empower women and girls. So I think we should do 2 things. Firstly, promoting women to leadership. Secondly, children can take their name after father’s surname or mother’s surname.
Let me talk more in details.
Firstly, Vietnam should promote women in leadership in politics, economics, education, and so on. In politics, Vietnam should have female Secretary General of the Vietnamese Communist Party, female President, female Prime Minister, female Minister of National Defence, and so on. Until now, Vietnam has never had a female politician in those seats.
Vietnam should also have many female company presidents and female university presidents. When Vietnam has many female leaders, the Vietnamese will like boys and girls the same way.
Secondly, children can take their name after father’s surname or mother’s surname, not only father’s surname as tradition. The father and mother should work together on it.
When children can take their name after father’s surname or mother’s surname, we will have equality between wife and husband.
So, to deal with the problem that Vietnamese still favor boy over girl, we should do those two things.

Vietnam finished in the bottom five of a global sustainable tourism ranking, placing 96th out of 99 economies, according to a Euromonitor International report.
Vietnam joined Morocco, Mauritius, India and Pakistan in the bottom five of the ranking compiled by British market research firm Euromonitor.
The country lagged far behind all its Southeast Asian neighbors like Laos (51), Myanmar (59), Cambodia (74), Thailand (76) and Malaysia (85). Indonesia took up the 92nd spot, followed by Singapore and the Philippines.

Despite the associated environmental problems, Vietnam cannot do without coal-fired power plants for another 15 years at least, experts say.
There is no current alternative that can help Vietnam ensure energy security and maintain stable prices, they add.
There are several coal-fired plants in the pipeline, set to be be built by 2025, including the Nam Dinh 1 and Thai Binh 2 in northern Vietnam, and even after 2035 the country will still need a small number of coal-fired plants to keep prices from rising too high, the Institute of Energy says in a comment on the country’s latest energy development plan.
