The prayer series

Jesus,

By far,
the greatest danger facing humankind
– in fact, all living beings on our planet –
perhaps is the threat of nuclear destruction.

We know that in a nuclear war,
there will be no victors because there will be no survivors.

I would like
all the leaders of the nuclear powers,
the scientists and technicians who continue to create these weapons of destruction,
and all the people who are in a position to influence their leaders
to begin to work at dismantling and destroying all nuclear weapons.*

Jesus, please,
approach the problem.

Amen.
