Dear brothers and sisters,
What is a holy love?
When you gaze your lover as he is a saint, then you kneel at his feet and kiss his feet, kissing each of his toes, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (Matthew 22:37-40), that is a holy love.
In a holy love, your lover is a saint and you are the faithful of the saint. You love your lover as you love a saint. You love him. Moreover, you worship him. He is your saint.
Kissing his feet is a way you say to him: “I love you. I love you so much. How can I show you know that I love you with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind, my dear?”
Let’s think about Mary Magdalene. She took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped Jesus’ feet with her hair. (John 12:1-11.)
In the Jewish society then, the others’ feet were the dirtiest things. So the washing the others’ feet was the lowliest task, even servants didn’t do. However Magdalene wiped Jesus’ feet with her hair. She kissed Jesus’ feet. She loved Jesus so much.
To Magdalene, Jesus was a saint and she was the faithful of the saint. She loved Jesus as she loved a saint. She loved Jesus with her holy love.
Dear brothers and sisters,
Love your lover with your holy love.
Have a holy day.
