The prayer series

Jesus,

When you washed your disciples’ feet,*
you didn’t think that
you were a washer,
the disciples were the people you washed
and you were washing them,
did you?

Yes, so the washing was the true washing.
And the love was the true love.

Love people
but don’t think:
“I am a lover,
they are the people I love
and I am loving them,”
then we truly love
and the love is true love.
