Jesus,
You know,
when I learned literature in high school, from junior to senior,
there was a phrase I always had to use,
from colonial literature to modern literature.
It was:
“The passionate patriotism and the deep hatred of the enemy.”
(“Lòng yêu nước nồng nàn và lòng căm thù giặc sâu sắc.”)
I’ve usually wondered,
why do patriotism and hatred of the enemy have to go together?
Love is enough, why do we need hatred?
We have hated enemies from the North to the West,
from the French to the American,
from ngụy to phản động,…
and China now.
Why do we need hatred to protect our country?
A war between good and evil, apparently so clear,
is the battle between the good and the evil in this world,
but actually is the battle between the good and the evil in our heart.
Oh my God.
Please bless us all.
Help us trust in You.
Only You.
You are the Love.
And we only need the Love.
The Love is the Light,
guiding us to walk through the darkest valleys
and enjoy the warm sunlight in heaven above.
Amen.
