If we pay attention to what happen in our daily life with gratitude, we will see “miracles” or “God’s blessings” or “good karma” come to us almost every day. If we are not grateful, they will all seem to be coincidences and meaningless.
If we are profoundly grateful, we will see that everything has a very deep meaning.
About half a month ago, my wife and I took a trip to Yellowstone National Park in the Montana-North Dakota –Wyoming triangle, where the famous Old Faithful geyser is located. We drove on a path along Yellowstone River with many bison on its green banks. For many miles, bison probably by the thousands lay resting or grazed the grass about a kilometer or half a kilometer away from the road.
“Who knows if some bison will come and investigate our car!” I wished out loud.
“No such luck,” replied my wife.
And we continued driving.
About 10 minutes later, we were stuck because vehicles from both directions stopped. I didn’t know what was happening, perhaps an accident in front of us.
Five minutes later, lo and behold, out of no where appeared a herd of bison by the road, approaching us, looking into our car, and “investigating” us. My wife and I were so excited. How many people have a chance to see wild bison so near that you can even touch them? (I could have just opened the door and touched them, but I’d rather keep the door shut for safety).
I pointed my finger to the sky and said to my wife: “Obviously I have a friend up there who takes care of my every little thing, even my wish for bison’s visit. Oh, God loves me so much!”
My wife said: “Absolutely true!”.
God may give us blessings of the “unnecessary kind” like that, but they may be “necessary” for us to know that He cares about us, even in our most trivial affairs.
If you are grateful, you will see blessings from God every day.
Wish you all a joyful day!
