Chào anh chị em,

Câu 9 đoạn 5 của Phúc Âm Thánh Matthew viết: “Phúc cho người xây dựng hòa bình, vì họ sẽ được gọi là con Thiên Chúa.”

Câu này có gì lấn cấn. Không phải mọi chúng ta đều là con Thiên Chúa sao?

Nhưng vấn đề nằm ở chữ “gọi”.

Chúng ta gây chia rẽ, hận thù, chiến tranh, máu lửa khắp thế giới. Chúng ta gọi người phe bên kia là côn đồ, ác quỷ, kẻ chống Chúa, kẻ vô đạo (infidel)… Chỉ có phe ta mới là công chính, đạo đức.

Chúng ta không gọi ai không ở cùng phe là con cái Chúa, trừ khi người không cùng phe là người “Xây dựng Hòa bình.”

“Người Xây dựng Hòa bình” không có phe phái, là bạn của tất cả mọi phe, giúp cho mọi phe gần lại nhau, giúp cho mọi phe có thể nói chuyện cùng nhau để Xây dựng Hòa bình cho nhau và cho thế giới.

Thế nên “Người Xây dựng Hòa bình” được mọi người, mọi phe phái, và chính Thiên Chúa đồng ý rằng: “Đây là người rất xứng đáng được gọi là ‘con Thiên Chúa'”.

Thiên Chúa là Tình yêu (1 John 4:8). Thiên Chúa là “Thiên Chúa của Hòa bình” (Romans 15:33).

Blessed are the peacemakers

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Verse 9, chapter 5 of the Gospel of Matthew says: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

There’s something precarious with this verse. Aren’t we all children of God?

But the problem lies in the word “called.”

We cause division, hatred, war, and conflict throughout the world. We call those on the other side thugs, devils, anti-God, infidels… Only our side is righteous and moral.

We don’t call anyone not on our side a child of God, unless that person is a “Peacemaker.”

“Peacebuilders” have no factions, are friends of all sides, help bring all sides closer together, help all sides talk to each other to build peace for each other and for the world.

Therefore, “Peacebuilders” are agreed upon by everyone, all factions, and even God himself: “These persons worthy to be called ‘Children of God.'”

God is Love (1 John 4:8). God is “the God of Peace” (Romans 15:33).
