How are you? What have you recently planted?
Sapa is in springtime. I think this is the perfect time to plant something.
Last week, I started my plant project by buying five strawberry mother plants. They are native to Mộc Châu, Sơn La. The plants already had some green berries.

How’s it going? What is your favorite place where you live?
One of my favorite places in Sapa is Sâu Chua. This is a small village 10km away from Sapa. The village is still a lesser-known destination for many people.
The road to Sâu Chua is narrow and sloping. This tranquil village is home to the Hmong people. They live in wooden houses, do farm work, feed animals, and plant vegetables for a living. Their life still faces many difficulties, but they are so affable and always smile.

How are you? Do you like rainy days?
February has come, and Sapa has welcomed this new month with rain. Rainy days might affect our mood. However, they also give us many things to feel.
Thanks to rainy days, I can stay at home and get cozy inside. I really love to see beautiful pearls of rain and dewdrops on the weeds and the three-leaf clovers on our balcony. Raindrops and dewdrops are truly natural gems.

These days, Sapa market is the best place to feel the cheerful and bustling atmosphere of Tet in Sapa.
Like other Tet markets, Sapa market is where people can sell and buy essential things for the Lunar New Year. From kumquats, peach blossoms, and wild orchids to many kinds of fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats, we can find almost everything in the market.

How are you doing? Are you magnolia lover?
A few days ago, I came across a kobus magnolia tree on a roadside. Kobus magnolia is a species of magnolia. In Japan people call it kobushi magnolia.
From a distance, the magnolia tree caught my eyes with graceful white flowers. The tree was about 3m tall. This kind of tree is unique. It only has white flowers blooming on the branches without any leaves.

Bài hát là lời mời gọi dễ thương của cô em gái Anna với chị Elsa. Anna luôn muốn được chơi với chị. Nhưng không rõ tại sao, chị Elsa chỉ nhốt mình trong phòng. Dù rất muốn gần Anna, nhưng Elsa sợ sẽ làm hại em gái bởi khả năng phủ băng giá không kiểm soát của mình.
Elsa luôn bị nỗi sợ chi phối. Cho đến một ngày, khi Anna bị đóng băng vì cứu chị. Elsa mới nhận ra chỉ có “tình yêu thương chân thật” mới chữa lành được tất cả.

I hope you guys are doing well.
Today, I’d love to share with you the life of a barn swallow family.
Last year, there was a barn swallow couple staying with us in Sapa from March to June. The birds built their nest under the porch roof of our kitchen. They built the nest with mud and grass stems.
When the barn swallow couple finished their work, the female laid six eggs. Every day, this couple rotated to brood the eggs. After one month, they welcomed six cute baby chicks into their family. Day by day, mom and dad picked up insects to feed their nestlings together.

How are you doing? Have you ever seen the plum blossoms in Sapa?
When it comes to plum blossoms, people are often confused between plum blossoms and cherry blossoms, as these two kinds of flowers look quite similar.
However, it seems that plum blossoms usually bloom earlier in winter while the flowering time of cherry blossoms is in mid March. Besides, plum blossom petals have round tips, unlike cherry blossoms with a notch at the tip of each petal. Continue reading Plum blossoms

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today is Christmas. I’m celebrating Christmas. How is Christmas celebrated where you live?
In Sapa, Christmas this year is quieter compared to previous years. Because of Coronavirus pandemic, there are no festival events, and not many visitors came here on Christmas Eve. However, I still feel the joyful Christmas atmosphere in every corner of Sapa.
These days in Sapa, the weather has been colder, the spruces on the streets have become gorgeous Christmas trees, and the Stone Church looks stunning in the night like a painting drawn by sketches of light. Almost everyone is relishing Christmas with joy and happiness.
I love celebrating Christmas because it’s the time for me to send my gifts and best wishes to everyone. Christmas is also meaningful to me as it reminds me of the marvelous birth of Jesus.

Bộ phim hoạt hình “Frankenweenie” kể về tình bạn đẹp giữa cậu bé Victor mê khoa học và chú chó cưng Sparky. Ngày nọ, Sparky không may bị chết vì một tai nạn giao thông. Victor đã khiến Sparky sống lại nhờ một thí nghiệm khoa học có sử dụng tia chớp điện.

Today, I’d like to share with you a little bit about Sapa Church.
Sapa Church stands in central Sapa. It was built in 1926 by the French. The church is called “Holy Rosary Church” here, but the correct translation of the Vietnamese name “Nhà thờ Đức mẹ Mân Côi” should be “Church of our Lady of Rosery”. Local people, however, are more familiar with the name “The Stone Church”, as it is built with stones.
Sapa Church has stained glass windows depicting the life of Jesus. Even though the church is quite small with its simple architecture, it has a history of nearly 100 years and has witnessed the ups and downs of the town. Continue reading Sapa Church

Happy Friday, Brothers and Sisters!
How are you doing?
Do you like pine trees? If yes, you definitely need to visit Sapa at least once. There are many kinds of pines here. A mong them, spruce is most common and we can see it everywhere in Sapa.
The spruces have conical shape. They are big, and their average height is between 10 and 20m. Each branch of a spruce has a lot of small needles. The needles are stiff, slender, pointy, and symmetrical on the branches.
The spruce cones are soft and flaky. The cones look pretty and as tiny as jujubes. When the spruce needles and cones get old, their colours will turn from green to brown. This is also the time when the dried branches fall on the ground.
Besides providing oxygen and beautifying Sapa, spruces are also home to many kinds of birds, especially sparrows. People also use spruces for Christmas decoration.
I really love the spruces in Sapa as they are like our close friends who always stand firm and are there for us.
