El Choclo hay “Kiss of Fire” có lẽ là bản Tango kinh điển nhất của mọi thời đại. Giai điệu El Choclo hát bật lên từng bước nhảy trên mỗi góc phố của Buenos Aires, thủ đô Argentina, ngân lên tất cả những gì thuộc về điệu Tango mê say rực lửa.

Anh Angel G. Villoldo, một nhà soạn nhạc Argentina là tác giả của bản El Choclo bất hủ này. Bản nhạc được trình diễn đầu tiên ở nhà hàng ‘El Americano”, Buenos Aires vào năm 1903.

El Choclo không lời được thu âm rất nhiều ở những buổi hòa nhạc khiêu vũ, đặc biệt ở Argentina. Tới năm 1952, một số phiên bản có lời được thu âm. Nổi tiếng nhất là bản do chị Georgia Gibbs hát, đứng thứ 2 trong xếp hạng của Billboard.

Theo thời gian, rất nhiều ca sĩ nổi tiếng hát El Choclo, như Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Connie Francis. Ở nhiều đường phố Nam Mỹ, Mỹ và Châu Âu, giai điệu El Choclo đem niềm vui và hứng khởi cho bao người đi đường.

Năm 2000, nhạc sĩ Helmut Lotti người Bỉ đã sáng tác lời mới của ông cho El Choclo. Hiện nay, nhiều sàn khiêu vũ ỏ Mỹ và Việt Nam hay chơi bản El Choclo với lời mới này.
