Morrissey đã trộm lời bài How soon is now? từ cuốn tiểu thuyết của George Eliot, nhưng tay ghita Marr lại trích từ nguồn khác: ban nhạc “Derek and the Dominos.” Morrissey và Marr đều là thành viên của ban nhạc Smiths và đều là người sáng tác bài hát này. Morrissey nói, “Tôi muốn đoạn mở đầu mạnh gần giống bài Layla, để khi chơi trong câu lạc bộ hay quán rượu, ai cũng biết đó là bài gì.”  Layla là bản nhạc tình do ban Derek and the Dominos trình diễn, đã rất nổi tiếng lúc đó. Trong trái tim ta có mặt trời. Người ta có thể gọi mặt trời đó bằng nhiều cách khác nhau tùy theo văn hóa: Phật tính, Thượng đế… nhưng điều nhiều người đồng ý là có một nguồn sáng vĩ đại trong trái tim người. Nắm được nguồn sáng đó là ta nắm chân lý.

Con cái là niềm vui niềm tự hào nhưng cũng là nỗi lo lắng của bố mẹ, nhất là những bố mẹ ở buôn làng có các con đi làm xa hoặc đi học xa gia đình. Có lẽ vì vậy mà sau khi mình không còn ở buôn làng, các mẹ vẫn thường xuyên gọi điện nói chuyện hoặc hỏi mình về những điều liên quan đến việc học, đến công việc cũng như chuyện tình yêu của các con. Chẳng hạn cách đây hai ngày, mẹ Thép gọi điện báo cho mình biết em Phila con gái thứ hai mẹ Thép cũng là học sinh cũ nhà Lưu trú của mình, đã học xong hai năm trung cấp ngành Mầm non tại Tp. TOKYO — ASEAN needs to more than double its power capacity in less than 20 years to meet burgeoning demand. British energy research and consultancy group Wood Mackenzie reported last week that the region requires $500 billion worth of investment to achieve such a goal.

“Robam kbach boran,” or the art of Khmer classical dance, is more than 1,000 years old. It was developed as a prayer in movement for rain and fertility, and a prosperity that this meant for an agricultural society. Dancers who were both men and women were offered to temples where they served as living bridges between heaven and earth. Their dancing bodies carried the prayers of the people up to the gods, and the will of the deities was delivered back through them to the people and the land.
