(TBKTSG) – Gần đây ngày càng có nhiều quốc gia ở Đông Nam Á và Nam Á rơi vào bẫy nợ của Trung Quốc: vì không trả được nợ mà phải nhượng đất nhượng biển, hoặc làm theo những yêu cầu chính trị và ngoại giao của Bắc Kinh. Với đại dự án “Một vành đai, một con đường” (BRI – Bell and Road Initiative) đi qua nhiều nước mà Chủ tịch Trung Quốc Tập Cận Bình đang ra sức quảng bá, dự đoán sẽ có thêm nhiều nước mắc vào chiếc bẫy này.

 The United Nations has condemned President Donald Trump’s “racist” description of African nations and Haiti as “shithole countries,” amid global outrage over the vulgar comments.

In a discussion with lawmakers on immigration, Trump reportedly asked why the U.S. should accept more immigrants from Haiti and “shithole countries.”

The United Nations human rights office on Friday rejected his words as “racist” and inciting xenophobia.

UN chief Antonio Guterres has called for establishing “balance of power” in the Security Council to make the world body more “democratic”. Speaking at a ceremony on Friday at which Egypt took over the chairmanship of the G77 and China from Ecuador, the UN Secretary-General called for a more democratic UN, with power divided in a more balanced way and with more effective diversity in the regional representation at all its bodies.

Những nạn đói đã cướp đi sinh mạng của gần 75 triệu người ở thế kỉ 20, nhưng dường như vấn đề này đã được giải quyết ở những thập kỷ gần đây. Hiện tại, đột nhiên, vấn nạn này quay trở lại. Vào cuối tháng 2, một nạn đói đã diễn ra ở South Sudan, và ở Somali, Nigeria và Yemen cũng đã phát ra những cảnh báo về nạn đói.

Jerusalem: Trump move prompts negative world reaction

US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has been met with a wave of disapproval.

Leaders from within the Muslim world and from the wider international community were swift to criticise the move, and some warned of the potential for violence and bloodshed as a result.

Mr Trump also approved moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, making America the first country in the world to officially recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Viet Nam News UNITED NATIONS — The United States has withdrawn from a United Nations pact to improve the handling of migrant and refugee situations, deeming it “inconsistent” with its policies.

“The US Mission to the United Nations informed the UN Secretary-General that the United States is ending its participation in the Global Compact on Migration,” the US said in its statement on Saturday.

When Myanmar elected Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s party to power in 2015, she was widely portrayed as a sort of political saint, an icon who had endured great suffering to guide her people from dictatorship to democracy.

President Barack Obama praised her. Hillary Clinton embraced her in public. The Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, once compared her favorably to Gandhi.
