Kỷ nguyên thông tin đưa đến tình trạng tràn ngập thông tin – thông tin quá nhiều đến nỗi không ai nắm được mọi thông tin cần thiết, vì không đủ thời gian để đọc. Từ đó, phát sinh ra nhu cầu quản lý thông tin – mỗi người phải biết làm thế nào để lọc lựa thông tin để chỉ đọc một ít thông tin đã được chọn lọc cho mình. Nhưng đã chọn lọc thì đương nhiên là có nguy cơ minh bị thiếu sót vì đã bỏ đi một số thông tin quan trọng mà không biết. Vấn đề lại còn lớn hơn với những người không dùng ngôn ngữ toàn cầu hằng ngày (nhất là tiếng Anh), vì dùng ngôn ngữ địa phương (như tiếng Việt) là đã quá thiếu thông tin rồi, lại còn phải chọn lọc bỏ đi bớt thì nguy cơ thiếu sót tăng lên rất nhiều. Nhưng dù sao thì chúng ta cũng cần phải biết quản lý và chọn lọc thông tin cho riêng mình, vì chẳng có cách nào khác với những dòng thác thông tin chảy đổ ồ ạt mỗi ngày. In 2018, two survivors of massacre perpetrated by South Korean troops in Vietnam during the Vietnamese-American war, instigated the People’s Tribunal on War Crimes by South Korean Troops during the Vietnam War. This signalled a watershed moment in the history of civil activism and transitional justice in South Korea; yet, there is still much to be done.
Following the outbreak of conflict in Vietnam (1955-1975), U.S. President Lyndon Johnson initiated the Many Flags campaign to consolidate a united front against communism in Indochina. While several countries, including Thailand, Australia and New Zealand participated, South Korea contributed by far the largest number of troops after the U.S.: around 300,000 rotating troops by the end of the war.
Dictator Park Chung-hee sought to build a stable South Korean government, and so he agreed to take a leading role in the war in exchange for American military support in the Korean peninsula and economic support for Park’s ambitious development plans. The estimated $1 billion USD worth of American aid and other war-related income was a vital lifeline for the crumbling Korean economy.

The UN secretary-general, António Guterres, has issued a stark warning concerning the “dismal litany of humanity’s failure to tackle climate disruption” in a speech in which he set out “five critical actions to jumpstart the renewable energy transition”.
Speaking at the launch of the World Meteorological Organisation’s State of the Global Climate 2021 Report, Guterres described the global energy system as “broken” and “bringing us ever closer to climate catastrophe”. He called on the world to “end fossil fuel pollution and accelerate the renewable energy transition, before we incinerate our only home”.
