What is to kill Buddhism? Who is a person killing Buddhism?

Zen Master Gasan say, a person who preaches without enlightenment is the person who kills Buddhism.

Killing

Gasan instructed his adherents one day: “Those who speak against killing and who desire to spare the lives of all conscious beings are right. It is good to protect even animals and insects. But what about those persons who kill time, what about those who are destroying wealth, and those who destroy political economy? We should not overlook them. Furthermore, what of the one who preaches without enlightenment? He is killing Buddhism.”

To Zen master Gasan, there are 5 types of killer:

(1) person who kills the lives of all conscious beings,
(2) person who kills time,
(3) person who destroys wealth,
(4) person who destroys political economy, and
(5) person who preaches without enlightenment.

So, a person who preaches without enlightenment is the killer. He is killing Buddhism.

Many persons who preach without enlightenment in this time. Many persons who killing Buddhism in this time.

So be a Buddhist protector.

Practice Buddhism. Practice Buddhism until your teacher says you can preach. Don’t preach without enlightenment. Don’t kill Buddhism. Protect Buddhism.
