Jesus and I are listening to a woman.
She has been living near my home for about 10-12 years.
She sells balut and various cereal milks.
While I’m drinking peanut milk – perhaps I’m her first customer of the day,
she suddenly tells me about her family.
While she’s talking, some customers come, so she stops to serve them.
And I say to Jesus:
Her story is so sad.
What should I say to comfort her?
… Yes, listen to her…
It starts getting dark.
She comes back and goes on with her story.
Then I say to her some words.
She nods “yes” continuously.
Her eyes become brighter.
And the air around her seems fresher.
Some people come, I say goodbye to her.
And I say to Jesus:
Thank you for comforting her.
I love you, Jesus.
Amen.
