Viet Nam News The Khmer people in southern An Giang Province take pride in their age-old tradition of brocade weaving. Local artisans in the province produce products including scarves, tablecloths, dresses and even murals depicting folklore stories and legends.
It takes a lot of time and attention to detail to make a beautiful piece of brocade, while even more work is required to create a unique pattern, which can become an artisan’s trademark.

HÀ NỘI — A Vietnamese pilot was killed in a mid-air crash between a helicopter and an aircraft in the United Kingdom, the Ministry of National Defence announced on Sunday.
According to the defence ministry and the Helicopter Services Company at the Wycombe Air Park in Buckinghamshire, where the collision occurred on Friday, Captain Nguyễn Thành Trung was taking an advanced helicopter training session on a Cabri G2.

GENEVA, Nov 3 (Reuters) – An estimated 10 million people worldwide are stateless, including three million officially, a status that deprives them of an identity, rights, and often jobs, the United Nations refugee agency said on Friday.
Muslim Rohingyas in Buddhist-majority Myanmar form the world’s biggest stateless minority, with some 600,000 having fled violence and repression since late August and taken refuge in Bangladesh, it said.

VietNamNet Bridge – At a meeting held on the occasion of Vietnamese Women’s Day on October 20 in Hanoi, a delicate woman caught the special attention when she introduced herself as the inventor of a dishwashing and floor cleaning liquid made of plant waste.
She was Trinh Thi Hong, director of Minh Hong Biotechnology Company based in Da Nang.
Hong’s washing liquid is made after a special process. It needs 3 kilograms of plant waste to create 2 liters of finished liquid. The waste is cleaned (tree leaves, vegetables, flowers and fruits) and cut it into 3 cm pieces. It is mixed with 10 kilograms of water and 300 grams of sugar and put in in a closed bucket for 30 days.
