MARD: China’s fishing ban in Việt Nam’s waters is valueless

HÀ NỘI – The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has said that China’s statement on halting fishing activities for a limited period in the waters belonging to Việt Nam’s sovereignty is valueless.In a document sent to provincial People’s Committees nationwide, the ministry noted that China’s Bureau of Fisheries temporality halted fishing activities from 12:00 of May 1 to 12:00 of August 16 in sea areas, including China’s waters in joint fishing grounds with Việt Nam (in the east of the demarcation line in Tonkin Gulf) and sea areas belonging to Việt Nam.

The mattresses produced by artisans of Phò Trạch Village in the northern part of Thừa Thiên-Huế Province using craft skills handed over through generations have also welcomed the birth of generations of babies in the village and beyond.

China says has ‘positive’ talks with Vietnam on South China Sea

The leaders of China and Vietnam had “positive” talks about the disputed South China Sea on Thursday with neither side criticising the other, a senior Chinese diplomat said.

Print ads aimed at crushing stereotypes about physical beauty are the theme of a competition held for young designers in Vietnam.

The designs send a haunting message about body shaming, the practice of making negative comments on a person’s body shape or size.

The 16 best designs were voted on by Facebook users, ten of which will be selected by a board of judges for exhibition at a festival this weekend at the Ho Chi Minh City campus of the Foreign Trade University.
