AS if communist China was not already doing enough to degrade the rest of the world’s quality of life for its own gain, recent news from South and Central America further reinforces the impression that its rapaciousness knows no bounds. China’s Southeast Asian neighbors, particularly the Philippines, are already familiar with the Red Menace’s greediness when it comes to marine resources, but on the other side of the world, a massive, well-organized, industrial-scale effort to carry out illegal fishing on both sides of Latin America is threatening to wipe out fish stocks for a dozen countries.

“Theo Tổng cục Dân số- Kế hoạch hóa gia đình (KHHGĐ), ước tính trong Điều tra các mục tiêu phát triển bền vững về trẻ em và phụ nữ Việt Nam 2020-2021 cho thấy, tỷ lệ phá thai cao nhất là ở phụ nữ độ tuổi từ 25- 29 tuổi (9 lần/1.000 phụ nữ), tiếp theo là nhóm từ 20- 24 tuổi (7 lần/1.000 phụ nữ), rồi đến nhóm từ 30-39 tuổi (6 lần/1.000 phụ nữ). Nhóm vị thành niên từ 15- 19 tuổi có tỷ lệ phá thai là 1 lần/1.000 phụ nữ.” (Nguồn)

The text of the following statement was released by the G7 foreign ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America, and the High Representative of the European Union.

We, the G7 Foreign Ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the High Representative of the European Union, are united in our condemnation in the strongest possible terms of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and its continued violations of Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Independence.

President Putin’s efforts to incorporate Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions into the territory of the Russian Federation constitute a new low point in Russia’s blatant flouting of international law, and yet another example of Russia’s unacceptable violations of Ukraine’s sovereignty, the UN Charter, and the commonly agreed principles and commitments of the Helsinki Final Act and the Paris Charter.

When we dive into the colonial history of Southeast Asia, things can get rather messy in terms of the way important events and the stories of significant figures are retold.

Looking at Malaysia, for example, brings about a whole library’s worth of history that simply can’t be told in one sitting. However, one such remnant of Malaysia’s past has come back to haunt the Southeast Asian nation.

More specifically, arbitration awards allegedly owed to the heirs of the last Sultan of Sulu, who in the 19th century reigned over parts of what is today the Philippines, the state of Sabah (Malaysia), as well as North and East Kalimantan (Indonesia).

Putin Announces Plan to Annex Four Ukrainian Regions

Russian President Vladimir Putin will sign a decree to annex (FT) the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia tomorrow, a Kremlin spokesperson said. This major escalation in the war in Ukraine comes after Moscow orchestrated votes, widely denounced as a sham, for the regions to join Russia. The regions compose some 15 percent of Ukrainian territory.
Russia’s annexation will be the largest forceful takeover of European territory since World War II, according to the Financial Times. The United States and European Union plan to impose new sanctions over the annexation, Reuters reported. Yesterday, military leaders from over forty countries met in Brussels (NYT) to plan long-term military support for Ukraine.

Mình thực sự quan tâm đến tương lai của thế giới vì quá nhiều bất ổn đang xảy ra.

• Về quân sự thì điều lớn nhất là TT Nga Putint cứ nhất định đánh chiếm Ukraine, một quốc gia độc lập, dù rằng cho đến bây giờ thì Nga vẫn không thành công như dự định ban đầu. Đây là vấn đề cực lớn cho tương lai thế giới vì Putin đang cho thế giới biết là cả thế giới và hệ thống luật pháp và trật tự thế giới không có giá trị gì và không cần được tôn trọng, chỉ ý muốn của Putin là đúng. Và đương nhiên là thế giới cũng hiểu trật tự và hòa bình thế giới bị tấn công tận gốc rễ như thế cho nên thế giới sẽ nhất định chống Putin. Và chúng ta có thể mường tượng được mọi người đều có vũ khí hạt nhân trong kho. Putin thì nhất định không bỏ cuộc, nhưng nếu để Putin thắng thì thế giới sẽ hỗn loạn cực kỳ vì đang có hàng trăm ông thần khác ngồi đợi để dùng ý mình đập đầu thiên hạ, theo gương Putin. In the Bible, Jesus tells the story about three servants who are given bags of gold so that they can grow their master’s wealth. Two servants do well when they work hard to double their bags of gold. One, however, does a bad job when he simply hides his bag and gains nothing. (The parable of the bags of gold – Matthew 25:14-30).

The parable talks about gifts God gives us. God gives us many kinds of gifts, such as beauty, wealth, health, talent, smartness, diligence, wisdom… God gives us all these great things because God wants us to be managers for God – God gives us beauty, money, intelligence…. so that we can manage them to bear fruit for God. Giữa tháng 9, chị Hồng ngồi trong nhà hai gian lợp tôn, choáng váng khi thấy ảnh con gái trên mạng xã hội đi xe xịn, mặc đồ hiệu, giới thiệu mình là con đại gia.

Hải Hà, con gái chị Nguyễn Thị Hồng (47 tuổi, ở Bắc Giang) rời quê ra Hà Nội, rồi vào TP HCM kiếm sống cách đây 7-8 năm. Thi thoảng, cô gọi về cho mẹ, nói mở quán bán cà phê, hoa quả, nhưng không làm ăn được nên chẳng có tiền gửi mẹ. Chị Hồng không kết nối với tài khoản Facebook của con gái nên hoàn toàn không biết cô xây dựng hình ảnh “là người học thức, có bố là Việt kiều”, dù cô chưa học hết cấp 2. Hà thường xuất hiện bên siêu xe, mặc đồ thương hiệu nổi tiếng, ăn trong nhà hàng sang trọng.

“Tôi sốc nặng, mất ăn mất ngủ mấy đêm liền. Tôi không hiểu vì sao con mình lại trở nên như vậy”, người mẹ nông dân, nói.

Since 2015, the Cambodian government has been addressing the politically and diplomatically sensitive issue of illegal Vietnamese immigrants through methods such as documentation, deportation, eviction, relocation and registration. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

  • Since 2015, the Cambodian government has been addressing the politically and diplomatically sensitive issue of illegal Vietnamese immigrants through methods such as documentation, deportation, eviction, relocation and registration.
  • These actions are the ruling Cambodian People’s Party’s response to the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party’s successful politicisation of anti-Vietnamese sentiments among Cambodian voters.
  • The Cambodian government’s Vietnamese immigrant policies also serve the ecological development goal of improving Cambodian water systems, as well as beautifying and developing its urban areas.
  • Given Cambodia’s asymmetrical power relationship with Vietnam and the sensitive issue of illegal Vietnamese immigrants, the closer bond between Cambodia and China serves as an enabling factor for the Cambodian government in adopting tougher policies.
  • The Cambodian government’s measures will however neither reduce the fear held by many Cambodians of Vietnamese domination nor will they alleviate the potential diplomatic fallout.

Sư tử ngủ đêm nay là bài hát được Solomon Linda thu âm đầu tiên dưới tựa đề “Mbube” cho Công ty Thu âm Gallo Nam Phi năm 1939. Phiên bản của Linda được viết bằng tiếng Zulu, trong khi lời tiếng Anh được George David Weiss viết.

Solomon Popoli Linda hay Solomon Ntsele, được biết đến với tên Solomon Linda, (sinh năm 1909 – mất ngày 8-10-1962) là nhạc sĩ, ca sĩ Nam Phi gốc Zulu – người viết ca khúc Mbube mà sau này trở thành ca khúc thành công nổi tiếng The lion sleeps tonight.

Câu “Trời làm mưa trên người công chính và người bất chính” là lời Chúa Giêsu nói trong Bài giảng trên đồi, là bài giảng có lẽ là nổi tiếng nhất của Giêsu. Câu này nằm trong một đoạn:

Anh em đã nghe Luật dạy rằng: Hãy yêu láng giềng và hãy ghét kẻ thù. Còn Thầy, Thầy bảo anh em: hãy yêu kẻ thù và cầu nguyện cho những kẻ ngược đãi anh em. Như vậy, anh em mới được trở nên con cái của Cha anh em, Đấng ngự trên trời, vì Người cho mặt trời của Người mọc lên soi sáng kẻ xấu cũng như người tốt, và cho mưa xuống trên người công chính cũng như kẻ bất chính. Vì nếu anh em yêu thương kẻ yêu thương mình, thì anh em nào có công chi? Ngay cả những người thu thuế cũng chẳng làm như thế sao? Nếu anh em chỉ chào hỏi anh em mình thôi, thì anh em có làm gì lạ thường đâu? Ngay cả người ngoại cũng chẳng làm như thế sao?
