Trả lời câu hỏi phóng viên chiều ngày 25/5/2023, Phó Phát ngôn Bộ Ngoại giao Việt Nam Phạm Thu Hằng cho biết, tàu khảo sát Hướng Dương Hồng 10 (XYH-10) của Trung Quốc cùng một số tàu hải cảnh, tàu cá bảo vệ đã xâm phạm vùng đặc quyền kinh tế của Việt Nam được xác lập phù hợp với các quy định của Công ước Liên Hiệp Quốc về Luật biển năm 1982. Trước đó, theo tin từ Reuters, tàu XYH-10 cùng loạt tàu hộ tống đã xuất hiện tại vùng đặc quyền kinh tế của Việt Nam từ ngày 8/5.
Phở, bún Việt vào danh sách ‘bị theo dõi’ ở châu Âu
TPO – Ngày 12/4, Thương vụ Việt Nam tại Bỉ và EU cho biết đã đưa ra cảnh báo với các doanh nghiệp sản xuất liên quan đến việc Ủy ban châu Âu (EC) đang lập hồ sơ theo dõi dư lượng 2-chloroethanol (dư lượng thuốc trừ sâu) có trong sản phẩm bún, phở, bánh đa nhập khẩu từ Việt Nam. Nếu doanh nghiệp Việt Nam không quản lý tốt dư lượng này thì có khả năng EC sẽ đưa các sản phẩm vào diện kiểm tra an toàn thực phẩm như đang áp dụng với mỳ ăn liền.
Phở, bún, bánh đa Việt Nam lại vào danh sách bị EC theo dõi hàm lượng thuốc trừ sâu.

HÀ NỘI – 22h, trên đoạn đường giao với cao tốc Pháp Vân – Cầu Giẽ, nhóm 7 thanh niên hối hả bê từng bao nhựa đường đổ xuống ổ gà dài gần 3 m.
Sau khi đổ nhựa đường, 5 thành viên của nhóm dùng búa đập nhỏ và dàn đều, hai người khác được phân nhiệm vụ chốt chặn, phân luồng phương tiện bởi càng về khuya, lượng ôtô di chuyển lớn.
Thấy một xe tải đến gần, Phạm Văn Hiếu ra hiệu cho tài xế đánh lái đi qua vị trí vừa đổ nhựa đường. Dường như đã quen với việc này, chiếc xe cán qua rồi cài số lùi để cán thêm lần nữa. “Chắc rồi, cảm ơn anh. Chúng tôi đỡ phải dùng nhiều sức để đầm cho chặt”, bà Chiến (57 tuổi), một thành viên trong nhóm nói.
Sau gần hai tiếng trong đêm 17/5, đoạn sụt lún được san phẳng, các phương tiện di chuyển dễ dàng hơn. Đây là một trong hàng nghìn buổi vá đường nhóm anh Phạm Văn Hiếu (32 tuổi) ở huyện Thường Tín làm hơn mười năm qua.

U.C. Berkeley has failed to disclose to the U.S. government massive Chinese state funding for a highly sensitive $240 million joint tech venture in China that has been running for the last eight years.
The Californian university has not registered with the U.S. government that it received huge financial support from the city of Shenzhen for a tech project inside China, which also included partnerships with Chinese companies that have since been sanctioned by the U.S. or accused of complicity in human rights abuses.
The university has failed to declare a $220 million investment from the municipal government of Shenzhen to build a research campus in China. A Berkeley spokesperson told The Daily Beast that the university had yet to declare the investment—announced in 2018—because the campus is still under construction. However, a former Department of Education official who used to help manage the department’s foreign gifts and contracts disclosure program said that investment agreements must be disclosed within six months of signing, not when they are fully executed.

ANSWER: I first visited reunified Vietnam in August 1981 and have returned regularly since then. I have given numerous interviews to the Vietnamese print and online media, radio and television. As a result, I have come to know certain journalists quite well. I also appreciate the practical constraints they work under. For example, on sensitive matters like relations with China and disputes in the South China Sea, I am aware that they can quote me as a foreigner when they are not permitted to comment on the same issue. Coaches and players from Thailand and Indonesia tore into each other as disputes during the SEA Games men’s football final erupted into at least two full-scale brawls on Tuesday.
Indonesia was leading Thailand 2-1 in the second half of the match when the referee blew the whistle to allow a direct penalty for Thailand.

One year in the next five will almost certainly be the hottest on record and there’s a two-in-three chance a single year will cross the crucial 1.5℃ global warming threshold, an alarming new report by the World Meteorological Organization predicts.
The report, known as the Global Annual to Decadal Climate Update, warns if humanity fails to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero, increasingly worse heat records will tumble beyond this decade.
So what is driving the bleak outlook for the next five years? An expected El Niño, on top of the overall global warming trend, will likely push the global temperature to record levels.
Has the Paris Agreement already failed if the global average temperature exceeds the 1.5℃ threshold in one of the next five years? No, but it will be a stark warning of what’s in store if we don’t quickly reduce emissions to net zero.
Warming makes record heat inevitable
The World Meteorological Organization update says there is a 98% chance at least one of the next five years will be the hottest on record. And there’s a 66% chance of at least one year over the 1.5℃ threshold.

- Despite new regulations to clean up Vietnam’s timber sector, importers continue to bring large volumes of tropical hardwood into the country from deforestation hotspots in Africa and Asia for use in products sold domestically.
- In 2018, Vietnam signed a Voluntary Partnership Agreement with the EU to eliminate illegal timber from the country’s supply chains and boost access to the strictly regulated European markets.
- However, importers say the new legality requirements introduced in 2020 to verify the legitimacy of timber brought into the country are “too confusing,” and customs data indicate few signs of a reduction in high-risk timber imports from countries including Cambodia, Cameroon, Gabon, Laos and Papua New Guinea.
- Although Vietnamese authorities are taking steps to improve the situation, meaningful change is expected to take time; a switch by domestic consumers to products that use sustainable, locally grown timber instead of imported tropical hardwoods could solve many underlying problems, experts say.

Nguồn lợi thủy sản đang dần cạn kiệt. Số lượng tàu thuyền ven bờ quá lớn cần phải giảm xuống, để đáp ứng yêu cầu của Ủy ban châu Âu EC về thẻ vàng thủy sản. Việc phát triển nuôi biển đang trở thành xu hướng tất yếu. Trong đó, việc khai thác và nuôi trồng rong biển được đánh giá có nhiều tiềm năng. Tuy nhiên, thực tế việc phát triển ngành rong biển ở các địa phương miền Trung còn khá nhiều bất cập.
Ở khu vực Trung Bộ được đánh giá có dư địa với tiềm năng phát triển rong biển khá lớn, kéo dài từ Quảng Ngãi đến Bình Thuận. Tuy nhiên, hiện khu vực này chưa phát triển xứng với tiềm năng như ở Phú Yên hiện diện tích trồng rong biển mới có 3,7ha, trong đó chủ yếu là rong nho.

- We, the Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7), met in Hiroshima for our annual Summit on May 19-21, 2023, more united than ever in our determination to meet the global challenges of this moment and set the course for a better future. Our work is rooted in respect for the Charter of the United Nations (UN) and international partnership.
We are taking concrete steps to:
- support Ukraine for as long as it takes in the face of Russia’s illegal war of aggression;
- strengthen disarmament and non-proliferation efforts, towards the ultimate goal of a world without nuclear weapons with undiminished security for all;
- coordinate our approach to economic resilience and economic security that is based on diversifying and deepening partnerships and de-risking, not de-coupling;
- drive the transition to clean energy economies of the future through cooperation within and beyond the G7;
- launch the Hiroshima Action Statement for Resilient Global Food Security with partner countries to address needs today and into the future; and
- deliver our goal of mobilizing $600 billion in financing for quality infrastructure through the Partnership for Global Infrastructure Investment (PGII)
