Ignorance and wisdom (2)

Ignorance and wisdom (1)
Ignorance and wisdom (2)

Dear brothers and sisters,

The Diamond Sutra say,

“All conditioned dharmas
are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows,
like dew drops and a lightning flash:
contemplate them thus.”

All things are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows.
So ignorance and wisdom are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows.
So fool and sage are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows.

All things are impermanent.
So ignorance and wisdom are impermanent.
So fool and sage are impermanent.

All things are impermanent. They come and go in a flash.
Ignorance is impermanent because it comes and goes quickly.
Wisdom is impermanent because it comes and goes quickly.

Yesterday he was ignorant. Today he’s suddenly wise. He becomes a wise man.
Yesterday I’m wise. Today I keep attaching to my wisdom. I become a fool.

Therefore, contemplate all things thus.

This means,
contemplate a fool as a person without ignorance;
contemplate us (wise people) as persons without wisdom.

All things are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows.

Have a nice day.
