Có lẽ một trong những cách tốt nhất để bắt đầu một ngày làm việc ở nhà với mình là nghe một vài bản nhạc. Và tất nhiên trong đó có nhiều hơn một bản tình ca. Hôm nay bắt đầu một tuần mới và hưởng ứng chuyên mục Chuyện Uyên Ương, Nhạc Xanh cũng góp một vài giai điệu ngợi ca TÌNH YÊU – lẽ sống của con người, và là chủ đề muôn thuở.

Nữ văn sĩ Pháp George Sand đã nói :” Chỉ có một hạnh phúc trong đời : đó là yêu và được yêu“

Theo Hugo: ‘ Được yêu, một sự kiện quan trọng biết bao! Yêu, càng trọng đại hơn nữa! Vì yêu, trái tim trở nên can đảm. Nó chỉ còn toàn những gì thuần khiết, chỉ dựa vào những gì cao thượng và lớn lao”

Mình đặc biệt thích Victor Hugo vì những giá trị nhân văn trong tác phẩm của ông thực vĩ đại. Tình nhân ái, và đặc biệt tình yêu dưới ngòi bút của văn hào này rất mãnh liệt với bất cứ nhân vật nào ông tạo ra. Mối tình rất đẹp của Marius và Cosette trong Những Người Khốn Khổ, hay tình yêu say đắm rực lửa dù vô vọng của Quasimodo với nàng Esmeralda. Hugo luôn ca ngợi tình yêu :

“Cái ngày mà một phụ nữ đi qua trước mặt bạn, tỏa ánh sáng cho bạn bước theo chân nàng, thì cái ngày đó bạn khốn đốn rồi, bạn đã yêu. Hình ảnh của nàng sẽ đưa bạn sang một lĩnh vực rực rỡ của tâm hồn bạn, nơi không có gì phải cũng chẳng có gì trái, đó là lĩnh vực của cái đẹp và tình yêu . Lúc này bạn chỉ còn một việc để làm: ” Nghĩ đến nàng thiết tha đến mức nàng buộc phải nghĩ đến bạn”

Tình yêu là gì? Chẳng ai cắt nghĩa được như nhà thơ Xuân Diệu đã thốt ra :

Elvis Aron Presley, người được tôn vinh là Vua Nhạc Rock & Roll, sinh ngày 8 tháng 1, 1935, mất ngày 16 tháng 8, 1977), là một ca sĩ và diễn viên người Mỹ nổi tiếng ở mọi thời đại.

“Elvis chính là rock ‘n’ roll” và đa số tác phẩm của Elvis là hoàn hảo. Đó là những nhận định của tạp chí Rolling Stone về The King, như cách gọi tắt quen thuộc dành cho Presley. Trong suốt sự nghiệp ca hát kéo dài đến 2 thập kỷ của mình , Elvis Presley đã lập và phá vỡ những kỷ lục về lượng khán giả đến xem trình diễn cũng như lượng đĩa nhạc được tiêu thụ. Kể từ khi ông vua nhạc rock & roll qua đời, có hơn 250.000 người khẳng định đã nhìn thấy anh ở đâu đó, khi thì trong một nhà hát, khi tại một trang trại, lúc lại là một hội trường lớn ở Michigan. Điều này cho thấy, số lượng người hâm mộ Elvis là vô kể, và người ta khó lòng chấp nhận được sự ra đi quá sớm của anh.

Là một trong những tên tuổi nổi tiếng của làng nhạc, Presley sống một cuộc đời xa hoa, sang cả. Nhưng hiếm ai biết, tuổi thơ của anh rất thiếu thốn, nghèo nàn. Cậu bé Elvis sinh trong một mái lều xiêu vẹo ở Tupelo, Mississippi. Lẽ ra, cậu đã có một cậu em sinh đôi, tên là Jesse Garon, nhưng Garon đã mất ngay sau khi ra đời vì quá yếu ớt.

Dù nghèo khó, thường phải ăn chỉ có bánh mì, nhưng bù lại, gia đình chăm sóc Elvis Presley khá quy củ và cẩn thận. Cho đến tận năm 15 tuổi, bà mẹ vẫn phải đưa cậu đến trường, để ngăn không cho lũ trẻ chòng ghẹo con bà. Đến sinh nhật 11 tuổi, Elvis lần đầu tiên được tiếp xúc với nhạc cụ, đó là một cây guitar. Ban đầu, cậu tỏ vẻ hơi hậm hực vì cậu thèm được có một chiếc xe đạp mới, nhưng dần dà, Presley bị cây đàn cuốn hút đến quên cả ăn ngủ.

Chỉ vài năm sau, trên các sân khấu bắt đầu xuất hiện một anh chàng khá điển trai, biểu diễn hết mình, với những cú lắc hông dữ dội, đầy gợi cảm. Lần đầu tiên được các thiếu nữ ở dưới khán đài reo hò, la hét, Elvis đã băn khoăn hỏi ông bầu: “Liệu tôi có làm gì sai không mà bị mọi người la dữ như vậy?” để rồi nhận được câu trả lời: “Dù anh có làm gì đi nữa thì tốt hơn cả là trở lại sân khấu ngay lập tức và tua lại màn trình diễn đó đi”.

Đến năm 20 tuổi, Elvis kiếm được hợp đồng ghi âm đầu tiên, trị giá chỉ có 30.000 USD, nhưng một năm sau, anh đã làm cả thế giới phải ngỡ ngàng khi giành liên tiếp ngôi vị quán quân ở các bảng xếp hạng và nhanh chóng trở thành triệu phú. Thế nhưng, ngôi sao này luôn tuân thủ quy tắc: không biểu diễn ở bất kỳ đâu ngoài Mỹ, trừ một trường hợp ngoại lệ đã thực hiện show ở Canada.
Trong thời gian ở Đức, Elvis làm quen với cô nàng Priscilla Beaulieu và sau 8 năm tìm hiểu, họ quyết định đi đến hôn nhân. Lấy vợ, anh trở nên “ngoan ngoãn” hơn hẳn, và sau một lần tuyên truyền về tác hại của ma tuý, Elvis đã được tổng thống Mỹ Nixon trao tặng huân chương đặc biệt.

Tuy nhiên, đang trong thời kỳ đỉnh cao sự nghiệp thì Elvis bị bắt đi lính, và chàng thanh niên này đã tỏ ra mình là một kẻ văn võ song toàn. Không chỉ giành tiếng vang trong lĩnh vực nghệ thuật, anh còn được các đồng đội vị nể khi đoạt được đai đen môn karate. Trong thời gian Presley ở quân ngũ, khi chàng phải cắt tóc kiểu nhà binh, đã biết bao quý bà và quý cô đổ lệ vì thương tiếc mái tóc cắt ngắn của Presley

Sau khi hoàn thành nghĩa vụ quân sự, Presley lại trở về với ánh đèn sân khấu. Năm 1973, show hoà nhạc đặc biệt Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii, được phát sóng trực tiếp trên 40 quốc gia, đã thu hút trên 1 tỷ người xem, thậm chí còn nhiều hơn cả chương trình cuộc thám hiểm đầu tiên lên mặt trăng. Nhưng sau sự kiện này, sức khoẻ của Elvis tụt dốc không phanh. Cuộc hôn nhân tan vỡ càng làm ông vua nhạc rock & roll lún sâu vào vũng lầy đen tối. Gần như không đêm nào mà anh không phải dùng đến thuốc ngủ, và sau một thời gian, đến 16/8/1977, ngôi sao sáng đã tắt hẳn trên bầu trời âm nhạc, để lại bao nỗi thương tiếc cho fan hâm mộ.
Presley đã được ghi danh vào kỷ lục Guiness về số lượng bài hát chiếm ngôi vị đầu bảng (18 bài).

Nhân kỷ niệm 30 năm ngày mất của ca sỹ Elvis Presley (16/8/2007), một cuộc bình chọn những ca khúc hay nhất đời Ông hoàng nhạc rock ‘n’ roll này đã được tổ chức. Kết quả là vị trí đầu bảng thuộc về “Suspicious Minds”.
Ca khúc “Jailhouse Rock” giữ vị trí số hai, còn “Always on My Mind” xếp ở vị trí thứ ba. Đứng thứ tư trong danh sách là “In The Ghetto”, trong khi đó “Are You Lonesome Tonight” lọt vào vị trí top 5.
Được phát hành vào năm 1969, “Suspicious Minds” đã từng là bài hát duy nhất của Elvis Presley lọt vào danh sách 100 ca khúc hay nhất của hãng ABC News.

Cuộc bình chọn do tạp chí Radio Times tổ chức đã thu hút 12.000 fan hâm mộ tham gia. 63% số fan trên cho biết họ thích phong cách hát nhẹ nhàng của Elvis trong những năm 50 ở Vegas hơn. Có 32% người trả lời thích tất cả các xu hướng nhạc của Elvis.
Stuart Macone, chuyên gia âm nhạc của Radio Times khẳng định Presley là một huyền thoại sống mặc dù ông đã qua đời cách đây 3 thập kỉ.
