Under Trump Administration, Some Vietnamese Immigrants Face Uncertain Fate

It’s a Saturday afternoon at a community center in Dorchester. More than a dozen people sit in metal folding chairs, organized in a circle and leaning forward, listening to the free legal advice being offered.
Some people are at the workshop alone; others have young children with them. They’re all part of Dorchester’s large Vietnamese community. And, like Van Nguyen, they’re all here because they’re worried.
India cancels plans for huge coal power stations as solar energy prices hit record low
India’s solar tariffs have literally been free falling in recent months’
India has cancelled plans to build nearly 14 gigawatts of coal-fired power stations – about the same as the total amount in the UK – with the price for solar electricity “free falling” to levels once considered impossible.
Analyst Tim Buckley said the shift away from the dirtiest fossil fuel and towards solar in India would have “profound” implications on global energy markets.

Trong đời sống chúng ta, chúng ta có hai hướng phục vụ chính: một là phục vụ chính ta, hai là phục vụ mọi người. Mình nói “hướng phục vụ chính”, đương nhiên có hướng phụ. Nếu ta lấy phục vụ mọi người là chính, thì phục vụ ta là phụ, vì bạn cũng cần phải phục vụ những nhu cầu sống tối thiểu của bạn. Hoặc ngược lại.
Khuynh hướng tự nhiên của mọi chúng ta là phục vụ mình là chính, vì cả đời ta học như thế – cố cho mình giỏi, mình đẹp, mình có tiền, mình có chức, mình có bằng, mình có nhà có xe… Và đây là vấn đề rất lớn, không những cho xã hội nói chung mà còn cho cả những người luyện tập tâm linh. Nếu bạn cứ lấy mình làm tiêu điểm chính, kể cả được lên thiên đàng, được thành Bồ tát, được thành Phật, thì bạn luôn luôn ở mức đai trắng, chẳng đi đâu được một bước. Giáo xứ Buôn Hằng là một giáo xứ toàn tòng của anh em đồng bào sắc tộc Sêđăng, nhìn chung cũng đầy đủ như một giáo xứ người Kinh. Ngay cổng của khu vực nhà sinh hoạt là nhà máy lọc nước tinh khiết.
Nhìn quang cảnh anh em trong buôn làng đến lấy nước mình nghĩ bà con chắc phải thích lắm, nhưng mình đã lầm khi trong giờ thi giáo lý của các em học sinh lớp Vào Đời III của mình đã thiếu em Buôn con gái út của mẹ Tung. Mình hỏi cả lớp nhưng không em nào biết lý do em Buôn vắng mặt trong buổi thi. Và hai ngày sau mẹ Tung dẫn em Buôn đến nhà tìm gặp mình. Singaporean firms selected to design master plan for Da Nang
Da Nang (VNA) – Da Nang authorities have selected Singaporean-based firms Sakae Corporate Advisory and Surbana Jurong to design the central city’s master plan and economic development strategy towards 2030.
The information was unveiled by Director of the municipal Department of Construction Vu Quang Hung on February 20.

US, Cambodia in War of Words Over Detained Opposition Leader

Cambodia and the United States sparred this weekend over comments appearing on a U.S. embassy Facebook page criticizing the Cambodian governments continued detention of the leader of a now-banned opposition party.
The unsigned Feb. 15 posting called former Cambodia National Rescue Party leader Kem Sokha an innocent man, detained on unjust charges, and noted he has now been held either in jail or under house arrest for nearly 18 months.

Buồn đau ?
Chào các bạn,
Đương nhiên là mỗi chúng ta đều biết buồn đau và đã có lúc buồn đau. Đương nhiên là buồn đau có nhiều nguyên nhân. Nhưng hôm nay mình chẳng muốn nói về nguyên nhân mà chỉ muốn nói về chính buồn đau.
Chẳng ai thích buồn đau cả. Bị thì đành chịu, nhưng chẳng ai hớn hở “Buồn ơi ta xin chào mi.” Nhưng có lẽ các bạn cũng nhận ra là hình như buồn đau mới giúp chúng ta trưởng thành. Mình chẳng nhớ có chuyện vui nào đã giúp mình hiểu biết hơn hay trưởng thành hơn. Dĩ nhiên là điều gì trên đời buồn, vui hay làng nhàng cũng đều có thể cho mình thêm một chút kiến thức, nhưng trí tuệ thực sự sâu sắc hình như chỉ đến với buồn đau. Continue reading Buồn đau ?
