Hi sisters and brothers,

I like the drama Descendants of the Sun – the 2016 South Korean television series starring Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo, Jin Goo and Kim Ji-won.

I like the drama because I like the career of the lead actor – captain Yoo Si-jin. He is an captain and team leader of Alpha Team – a fictional elite special forces team of the 707th Special Mission Battalion in South Korea. Vào tháng Mười tháng Mười một dương lịch mình nhớ các em nữ học sinh Lưu trú Buôn Hằng rất nhiều, do vào những tháng này ở những đám ruộng của những người Kinh cách nhà Lưu trú khoảng năm trăm mét có rất nhiều con cua đồng.

Sở dĩ mình biết được là do một buổi chiều mình qua nhà bố mẹ Sáng, đối diện nhà Lưu trú để mượn con dao rựa về cho các em học sinh của mình chặt củi, vì con dao rựa của nhà Lưu trú bị các em tổ Hai chặt gãy chưa kịp đi hàn. Mình vào nhà gặp em Huy người con trai thứ hai, mình hỏi mẹ Sáng và được em Huy cho biết mẹ Sáng đang cho gà ăn ở sân sau. Continue reading Cua đồng buôn làng →

Moon’s ’anti-corruption’ move invites ISDS lawsuits

The Moon Jae-in administration’s campaign to “root out archaic irregularities” appears to have backfired as global private equity funds are rushing to file investor-state dispute settlements (ISDS) over the controversial merger between Samsung C&T and Cheil Industries in 2015.

Following Elliott, which went after the Moon Jae-in government’s acknowledgement of the previous administration’s intervention in the merger, a separate U.S. private equity fund, Mason, has recently issued a similar claim. Those moves are placing the government in a dilemma over whether it should deny its own rationale or pay more than 1 trillion won (890 million) in compensation.

Vietnamese and American veteran pilots, who were once enemies of each other in the air during the anti-US war, reunited in Hanoi on October 3 for the third time.

Present at the gathering were Lt. Gen. Nguyen Duc Soat, hero of the People’s Armed Forces and head of the Vietnamese veteran pilot delegation, Charlie Tutt, head of the US veteran pilot delegation, representatives from the Air Defence – Air Force Service under the Vietnam Defence Ministry, and veteran pilots of the two countries.
