Dự đoán lâu nay về ảnh hưởng của biến đổi khí hậu đến châu lục đông dân nhất thế giới cuối cùng cũng đang trở thành hiện thực. 

“Các mô hình dự báo đã cho kết quả nhất quán rằng biến đổi khí hậu ở châu Á sẽ xuất hiện dưới dạng nhiều trận lũ lụt hơn, và những mùa mưa khắc nghiệt hơn”, Homero Paltan Lopez, chuyên gia nghiên cứu về nước hiện làm việc tại Đại học Oxford nói.

Cứ “Đến hẹn lại lên”, trong hơn thập kỷ qua, cứ đến mùa mưa bão thì miền Trung lại phải chịu ngập lũ tang thương, năm sau cao hơn năm trước, như một định mệnh. Những khổ nạn ấy, người ta thường đổ cho “thiên tai” như biến đổi khí hậu chẳng hạn. Điều đó tuy không sai, nhưng ngoài nguyên nhân khách quan do thiên tai đó, còn có nguyên nhân chủ quan là “nhân tai” (nhân họa) do con người gây ra. Sở dĩ người ta né tránh nói đến nhân tai là để giấu dốt, chối bỏ trách nhiệm.

Đập là hạ tầng cơ sở được xây để kiểm soát dòng chảy của sông và chứa một số nước lớn trong hồ nhân tạo hay hồ chứa.

Chúng không những được dùng để cung cấp nước canh tác và ngừa lụt, mà còn để sản xuất điện.  Nước từ đập chảy qua turbines, biến động năng của nước thành điện bởi máy phát điện.

Vài năm trở lại đây, ở nước ta rộ lên thú chơi cây cảnh cổ thụ được khai thác từ rừng. Ban đầu, đây chỉ là trào lưu nhỏ lẻ của một bộ phận người đam mê cây cảnh, nhưng dần dần nó đã lan rộng trở thành “cơn lốc” triệt hạ, cưỡng bức cây rừng ở khu vực Tây Nguyên – Nam Trung bộ.

Vietnam’s greenhouse gas emissions are set to grow significantly by 2030, under an updated climate plan submitted to the UN.

The country’s large cement sector is factored into the plan for the first time, which experts welcomed. But they said the overall target was not substantially more ambitious than the previous version.

Theo ghi nhận của PV vào sáng 5/9, đường Phạm Văn Đồng hướng đi vào sân bay Tân Sơn Nhất có nhiều cây bị trơ trụi.

Những cây sao đen cao khoảng 10-15m gần như không còn lá. Trong khi đó, ở những cây liền kề, nhiều nhánh cũng đã trơ trụi.

The slow development of a waste collection, transport and treatment system in Vietnam is caused mostly by limited financial resources.

According to the Directorate General of Environment, 13,000 tons of waste is generated every day in HCM City, including 8,300 tons of domestic waste, 1,500-2,000 tons of industrial waste, 1,200-1,600 tons of waste from construction works, 22 tons of medical waste and 2,000 tons of sludge of different kinds.
