My name is Le Thi Anh Tuyet, but you can call me An An. I live in Sapa, and I work as a receptionist in our family hotel. The spruces

Sapa corner

Happy Friday, Brothers and Sisters!

How are you doing?

Do you like pine trees? If yes, you definitely need to visit Sapa at least once.  There are many kinds of pines here. A mong them, spruce is most common and we can see it everywhere in Sapa.

The spruces have  conical shape. They are big, and their average height is between 10 and 20m. Each branch of a spruce has a lot of small needles. The needles are stiff, slender, pointy, and symmetrical on the branches.

The spruce cones are soft and flaky. The cones look pretty and as tiny as jujubes. When the spruce needles and cones get old, their colours will turn from green to brown. This is also the time when the dried branches fall on the ground.

Besides providing oxygen and beautifying Sapa, spruces are also home to many kinds of birds, especially sparrows. People also use  spruces for Christmas decoration.

I really love the spruces in Sapa as they are like our close friends who always stand firm and are there for us.

Wishing you all a fresh day!

Cheers,
An An

Long, long journey

Dear Anh, Chị,

Bài hát “Long, long journey” được thể hiện bởi ca sĩ Enya. Mỗi lần nghe “Long, long journey”, em cảm thấy lòng mình nhẹ bẫng và có thêm niềm tin. Everything’s gonna be ok.

A trip to the Oolong tea hill

Sapa corner

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How’s it going? What’s the weather like where you live?

Sapa is in winter. It has been cold, foggy, and rainy for nearly one month. But last Sunday, it was warm and nice, so I decided to get up early, and ride to the Oolong tea hill in the morning sun.

Hình ảnh này không có thuộc tính alt; tên tập tin này là oolong2.jpg

When I came to the Oolong tea hill, and looked from above. The green of the Oolong tea hills, the pink of the cherry blossoms, the white of the clouds and fog, everything mixed perfectly to make a stunning landscape.

Sa Pa corner

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today, I’d like to share with you a thing about Sapa that I’m so proud of. Can you guess what it is? It’s Mount Fansipan.

Known as the highest mountain in Vietnam, Mount Fansipan is 3.143 m above sea level. The mountain belongs to Hoang Lien Son mountain range. The reason why this mountain is named Fansipan is still unknown, but the name “Fansipan” is famous for many people who want to conquer the mountain.

Rainbows in Sapa

Sapa corner

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How are you doing today?

When was the last time you saw a rainbow? A few weeks ago, I came across a rainbow on a beautiful day.

I remember, when I was a little girl, I often wondered where the rainbows come from. Thanks to the physics lessons in high school, I’ve learned that a rainbow is formed when the sunlight shines through raindrops. Rainbows are the phenomenon of light dispersion. That’s what remains in my mind from physics classes. In simple words, when it’s sunny and rainy at the same time, rainbows might come out.
