When the waiter, about 19, brought out our 2 bowls of pho, he held each bowl with his index fingers and thumbs of both hands, by the rim of the bowl – the two thumbs inside the rim, the two index fingers outside the rim, to lift the bowl from a tray, and put the bowl down on the table in front of us. Mùa dịch Covid năm 2022, có một lần mình đi xe bus từ quận 12 về quận 1. Lúc đó gần Tết, hai bên đường những chậu hoa vàng hoa đỏ trưng Tết được bày bán rất nhiều. Nhiều người đi xem hoa và nhiều người mua hoa. Đường xá vì thế mà đông đúc hơn và tấp nập hơn.
Chuyến xe ấy đông khách, gần như kín chỗ. Mọi người rôm rả nói chuyện sắp sửa Tết. Không khí ngoài đường và trong xe rộn ràng và phấn khởi sau nhiều tháng ngày Covid căng thắng. Continue reading Bên cửa sổ xe bus

A man who is writing a book on Taoism asks me to read his draft version and share my comments. I read and realize that this man has zero knowledge on Taoism. My God, a person has absolutely no knowledge about a subject is trying to publish a book about the subject. I point out his huge errors, but I don’t know how to tell him stop writing.
This case is not about someone who has low level of knowledge. He has zero knowledge, and he simply put his own weird ideas down, and plans to sell his book. Continue reading Teaching

What have I been doing
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
When I opened ĐCN in Feb. 2009, 15 years ago, I had a general idea what positive thinking was, but I was not sure how far I had to go to be honest to myself and to the world, because many people talked about positive thinking and most of them were negative. I knew I would have to show people what true positive thinking was, but I wan’t sure how far I had to go. What I am writing today, I didn’t really think about at that time, although I had had enough knowledge then – I was thinking maybe I wouldn’t have to go that far. Since then, the experience has shown me that I would have to go all the way to God, Buddha, Bodhisattvas, and the saints to really help folks reach true positive thinking. Anything short of that is not positive enough. Writing about positive thinking for 15 years has helped me undertand the depth of positive thinking and the necessity of going to the roots and the foundation of positive thinking in order to complete my job of bringing positive thinking to some brothers and sisters. Chào các bạn,
140 tuổi không phải là con số trong truyện thần thoại. Nếu ta sống khỏe mạnh cả thể chất lẫn tinh thần như thiền sư, việc sống đến 140 tuổi là điều có thể.
Ngày nay, vì đa số người trẻ không chăm sóc bản thân tốt, kể cả bác sĩ, nên mới 30 tuổi mà đã nhiều bệnh trong người như đau dạ dày, đau xương khớp, thừa cân, suy nhược cơ thể… Đó là những bệnh thể chất dễ nhìn thấy và dễ chữa trị. Còn những bệnh tinh thần thì khó thấy hơn và khó điều trị hơn. Thuốc “tư duy tích cực” thì luôn có đó, nhưng bệnh nhân không chịu uống hoặc uống một bữa nghỉ một bữa thì cũng như không. Most people of the world make a huge mistake – they go with the masses. Whatever numerous people do, they would consider as correct, right, standard. In the Vietnamese culture, we have the quintessential phrase “Không giống ai” (not like anyone). If you are không giống ai, you are wrong or, at least, weird. When you’re sick
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
When you’re sick, you’re tired. The body doesn’t want to move. It wants to stay in bed and sleep. Because it’s out of energy? Obviously. But the truth is that, your body is not out of energy – it is using all its energy to fight against your illness and help you recover. In short, your body is using every bit of your energy to help you recover. It wants you to sleep, not wasting energy on anything else, so that it can work on your recovery.
So, my friends, when you’re sick, you need to rest, so that your body has enough energy to heal you.
