HÀ NỘI – UNESCO has responded to the dossier seeking its recognition of the Yên Tử – Vĩnh Nghiêm – Côn Sơn, Kiếp Bạc Monuments and Landscapes Complex as a world heritage site, according to the Cultural Heritage Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
UNESCO said the dossier meets all technical requirements outlined in the World Heritage Convention.

After the Lunar New Year holiday in February there has been rising need for trading and there is some overload, said Hoang Khanh Duy, deputy head of the Management Board of Dong Dang – Lang Son Border Gate in the northern province of Lang Son.
On March 16 there were 1,000 trucks waiting to cross the border on the Chinese side of Huu Nghi Border Gate, mostly carrying food ingredients, machines and car parts.
Customs officials from both countries agreed to increase trading time by two hours starting March 17, and the next day the overload dropped to 500 trucks.
Vietnam saw imports rise 18% year-on-year to $54.6 billion in the first two months. China was the biggest import market accounting for $21 billion, up 51%.

The French Development Agency will provide 42 million euros (US$45.7 million) between now and 2028 to fund works to prevent coastal erosion in Hoi An City.
The Ministry of Finance and the European Union (EU) on Friday signed an agreement for the Hoi An Erosion Prevention and Sustainable Coastal Protection project.
Of the 42 million euros, 35 million euros are a loan from the AFD, two million euros are in the form of non-refundable aid from the EU, and five million euros are Vietnam’s counterpart fund.
The work comprises building seven concrete embankments and pouring sand to create a beach along a five-kilometer stretch of coast along Cua Dai Beach.

March 14 (Reuters) – The Dutch King and Queen will postpone a visit to Vietnam planned for March 19-22 at the request of Vietnamese authorities, the Dutch Royal House said on Thursday.
“The Vietnamese authorities have requested that the state visit of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Queen Máxima to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam be postponed due to domestic circumstances,” the Royal House said in a statement.
The current legal system does not have specific regulations on identifying key industries as well as specific policies to promote the development of these industries.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam is in the top 10 developing economies in exporting creative products with a value of US$14.153 billion, heard a conference on Tuesday.
The conference, co-organised by the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), discusses opportunities and recommendations for Việt Nam to promote the development of its creative economy.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyễn Huy Dũng said the bidding is a historic day for the telecom sector and the commercialisation of 5G in Việt Nam.

At 119, a woman living in the southern Dong Nai Province, could break the record for “World’s Oldest Living Person.”
Trinh Thi Khong’s birth year, documented in official records and acknowledged through congratulatory messages from both the president and local authorities, is 1905.

Five former Saigon Commercial Bank executives who are abroad face trial for allegedly helping Truong My Lan misappropriate money and cause losses of VND488 trillion ($19.83 billion) to the lender.
The five, including two former chairpersons, have been ordered by the People’s Court of HCMC to turn themselves in before the trial on March 5 failing which they will be tried in absentia.

The five are former chairman and chairwoman Dinh Van Thanh and Nguyen Thi Thu Suong, former deputy CEO Chiem Minh Dung, former director Tram Thich Ton, and former manager of a branch, Nguyen Lam Anh Vu.
The five face trial for violating bank regulations, and Thanh is also charged with embezzlement.
