[PTH:  DW (short for Deutsche Welle) is Germany’s public                         international broadcaster, headquartered in Bonn and Berlin.
DW translates to “German Wave.”
Operational structure: A German federal state-owned media                   organization; while funded by tax revenue, it operates                                 independently of government interference as mandated by                    law.
Scope and languages: Provides news, reports, and                                          educational   programs in 32 languages ​​worldwide via radio,                    television, and  online platforms.
Objectives: To promote Germany’s image, provide an                                   objective  perspective on global current affairs, and uphold                       democratic values ​​and human rights. ]

The film SHE exposes the exploitative working conditions at an electronics factory in Vietnam. Almost 80,000 people work there, mostly women. The film offers a glimpse into this otherwise hidden world of work.

As filming on location was impossible, filmmaker Parsifal Reparato has the female workers re-enact scenes from their daily lives in minimalist, almost abstract settings. Close-ups and personal accounts combine to offer an intense insight into a system of surveillance, exhaustion and alienation – whilst also revealing a longing for education, freedom and a different life.
