Countless farm-raised ducks and fish from a village in the central Vietnamese province of Quang Nam have been found dead overnight, with the cause yet to be concluded.

The deaths were discovered on Tuesday morning in a section of a stream in An Chanh Village, Dai Tan Commune, Dai Loc District.

After finding out about the mass deaths, local residents gathered at the People’s Committee headquarters in Dai Tan to report the situation.

66,000 email, Facebook accounts in Vietnam stolen in extensive cyberattack: report

A group of hackers have made use of a Google Chrome extension to steal the sign-in details of about 66,000 Facebook, Gmail and Yahoo Mail accounts together with millions of cookies of popular sites, including Paypal, in Vietnam.

The cyberattack was uncovered just over a month after Vietnamese Internet users were hit by the WannaCry global ransomware program, Thanh Nien (Young People) newspaper reported.

Ho Chi Minh City to open maiden river bus route in August

Ho Chi Minh City is expected to operate its first-ever river bus route this August to help relieve the increasing traffic pressure on local streets.

After nearly eight years of preparation, the river bus route No.1 is set to connect Bach Dang Port in District 1 with Linh Dong Ward in Thu Duc District.

The 10.8-kilometer-long route will run along the Saigon River and Thanh Da Canal.

Shipbuilders flout contracts in fishing boat scandal in central Vietnam: inspectors

Two shipbuilders responsible for 18 fishing boats which suffered damage shortly after delivery were found to have violated the technical specifications listed in their contracts with fishermen in the south-central province of Binh Dinh, inspectors said Thursday.

The steel-clad vessels, ranging from VND12 billion (US$528,634) to VND20 billion ($881,057) in value, were delivered to Binh Dinh fishermen in September 2016.

Four arrested, one at large, as Vietnam probes massive losses at state-run firm

Vietnamese police have initiated criminal proceedings against five people responsible for sending a well-invested state-run enterprise into steep losses, officers announced on Tuesday.

Four of the accused have been arrested on charges of “intentionally acting against state economic management regulations and causing serious consequences,” while one remains at large after fleeing the country in November 2016.
