The heat absorbed in Earth’s oceans reached a new record in 2019, found a recent study published in the journal Advances in Atmospheric Sciences. Despite the fact that this has been the case for almost every year over the past decade, this information dominated the news cycle, with some particularly viral headlines noting that the amount of energy accumulating in the oceans is equivalent to detonating five Hiroshima atomic bombs per second, every second over the past 25 years.

Đến tham dự buổi lễ có TS Mai Duy Thiện – Phó Chủ tịch Thường trực, Hiệp hội Năng lượng Sạch Việt Nam (VCEA) và đông đảo đại diện các doanh nghiệp, hội viên hoạt động trong lĩnh vực năng lượng tái tạo.
Phát biểu tại buổi lễ, ông Mai Duy Thiện cho biết, Việt Nam nằm trong khu vực nhiệt đới gió mùa, số giờ nắng bình quân trong năm từ 2.500 – 3.000 giờ; nhiệt độ bình quân năm trên 21 0 C; hơn 8% diện tích có tiềm năng gió rất tốt (tốc độ gió ở độ cao 65m là 7 – 8 m/giây)… Với lợi thế đó, Việt Nam xác định, đây là 2 nguồn năng lượng chính để phát triển điện sạch.

A female flogging squad has enraged Indonesian activists. Authorities in the province say more women are committing “moral” offenses, which are punishable in Islamic-conservative Aceh by whipping or caning.
Aceh province on the northern tip of Indonesia’s Sumatra island follows Shariah law, an Islamic criminal code that includes “morality” offenses like gambling, adultery, drinking alcohol, and having gay or pre-marital sex.

VN needs to become low-carbon economy to serve Paris Agreement: experts

HCM CITY — Việt Nam must continue to take “concrete climate actions” to become a low-carbon economy and comply with the global Paris Agreement, a workshop heard in HCM City yesterday.
Hiromichi Murakami, deputy director general of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Headquarters’ Global Environment Department, said Việt Nam, as a member of the global community, played a major role in the implementation of the agreement.
Vietnam to deliver patrol boats to African customers

African customers have ordered patrol boats that have been built by Vietnamese shipyards, the country’s Tuổi Trẻ newspaper reported on 2 January.
The story and accompanying video focused on the delivery of 50 patrol boats that had been ordered by an unidentified billionaire and showed several small craft being loaded onto a cargo ship for delivery to Port Harcourt in Nigeria.
