Prayer 587

The prayer series

Jesus,

What do you mean
“I am the vine;
you are the branches.
If you remain in me
and I in you,
you will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing.”*?

I’m thinking about your words
while I’m walking in a park.

The park has many old trees.
I look at their branches.

Every time I look at an old tree,
I think you are the tree
and I am one of its branches.

The park has many trees.
I walk around the park
and I don’t have my answer.

What do you mean
“I am the vine;
you are the branches…”?

Whether I have an answer or not,
I’m happy
because I am in you today.

Today my heart is full of you.

Love you, Jesus.

Amen.
