Eating with Buddha

Saigon corner

Dear brothers and sisters,

This is our eating table. On the table, these are a small Buddha head statue, an incense burner in the image of praying hands, and two dipterocarpus seeds (hạt dầu) and one momordica cochinchinensis seed (hạt quả gấc).

Momordia cochinchinesnsis seed: my dad usually cooks xôi gấc on Tet holiday. This seed is from xôi gấc my dad cooked. The seed reminds me of my dad and family.

Dipterocarpus seeds: I picked up these seeds while walking on the sidewalk in Saigon. They are gifts I give the Buddha.

Buddha: Every times I eat alone, I rotate the statue toward to me, and thus, I have a friend eating with me. Peaceful meals.

Sharing with you all.

Have a nice day.
