Zuckerberg: Facebook will develop tools to fight fake news
Mark Zuckerberg has outlined a series of measures that should help prevent fake news from being shared on Facebook.
The planned controls, which were announced in a late night Facebook post, follow accusations that a flood of fake news stories influenced the U.S. presidential election.

Vietnam scraps nuclear power plans as costs double
reneweconomy_Vietnam has become the latest country to dump its nuclear power plans – and to rule nuclear out of its energy mix for the foreseeable future – after the the country’s National Assembly voted on Thursday to abandon plans to build two new plants in partnership with Russia and Japan.
The Vietnamese government said in a statement that the decision, made in a closed session of parliament, was taken for economic reasons, after the price for the proposed plants – approved in 2009 – had doubled to nearly 400 trillion dong, or $US18 billion.

50 Vietnamese media outlets fined over misleading fish sauce news

Fifty newspapers and news websites have been dealt a blow by Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications, accused of publishing inaccurate reports on traditional fish sauce’s safety and thus causing widespread fear among consumers last month.

South-east Asia needs a reset on trade deals

Since the early 2000s, countries in South-east Asia have seen a plethora of trade pacts.
Singapore signed a bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with New Zealand in 2000. Soon, others like Malaysia and Thailand got in on the act.
