The purpose of life is a life of purpose
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
“The purpose of life is a life of purpose.” This intriguing sentence is from author and novelist Robert Burne. Seems to be circular reasoning. But deep.
What is your purpose of life? Are you looking for your life purpose? Continue reading The purpose of life is a life of purpose

What does growing up mean?
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
When I was little, I understood that growing up meant you grew up to be an adult 20, 30, 40… 70 years old. In my mind, growing up was a matter of age and size.
Of course, we adults understand that upgrowing is a little more subtle and meaningful than that. Continue reading What does growing up mean?

Saving the world
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
You know what positive thinking is, probably you have learned it from ĐCN or from some other place. But if you pay attention, you have already known that the majority of our Vietnamese people, and the people of the world, do not know that there is something in the world called “positive thinking,” not mentioning practicing it. And that is the world’s tragedy.
Positive thinking, as a systematic subject of learning was born only recently, in 1952 when Pastor Norman Vincent Peale published his book The Power of Positive Thinking.
If you know and faithfully practice positive thinking, then you are in a minority group the size of 1 in 100,000 of the world, maybe much smaller.

The snap of a fingernail
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Buddhists say: “The snap of a fingernail may vibrate through countless worlds.” (Một tiếng khảy móng tay có thể rung động đến vô lượng thế giới). That is to say every movement, regardless of how small it is, has the power to move through and affect the universe.
We really cannot say what is small and what is big in the immense conductor network of the universe. Something tiny gets to an amplifying space in the network and is amplified to become so big and powerful – the ebb and flow of energy going through limitless space. Good v. bad – the chocolate battle
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Good versus bad is not necessarily the Devil versus God as people imagine. Oh, maybe once in a blue moon, it is the Devil v. God, but most of the time in our daily life, it is chocolate or no chocolate.
I want to be slim and good looking, I try to stay away from sweets, but this piece of Swiss chocolate with Cognac and truffle inside smells so good and looks so deliciously inviting – to eat or not to eat? How could I waste such a culinary master piece? Continue reading Good v. bad – the chocolate battle

Simplicity
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In everything we do, simplicity is the best route to go.
We are all familiar with the red tape in government—complex forms and procedures that make dealing with the government very time-consuming;
Or, user-unfriendly computers that make using them like going through a maze; Continue reading Simplicity

Here and Now
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
You have heard about living here and now – real living means living right here at this minute. The past, even only five minutes ago, is a memory, and the future is only an imagined image. The past and the future are not real. Real living is living here and now.
That is Zen. Focus on here and now. Focus on what you are doing here and now.
Read this Zen story in the series 101 Zen Stories. Continue reading Here and Now
