UN – Hiện nay, theo ước tính có khoảng 40 – 50 phần trăm người di cư ở Hà Nội và Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh là phụ nữ, và họ phải đối mặt với nhiều thử thách khắc nghiệt. Thu nhập thấp và không ổn định, không được xã hội bảo vệ khiến cho họ trở thành những người dễ bị tổn thương trong xã hội. Nhưng các chị đã từ chối không chấp nhận cuộc sống bên lề xã hội. Hơn 10.000 lao động nhập cư đã học được cách làm thế nào để tiếp cận các phúc lợi xã hội, bảo vệ pháp lý và chăm sóc sức khỏe. Họ đang vận động cho quyền lợi của chính mình và cùng giúp đỡ lẫn nhau trong cuộc sống.

A woman from An Giang Province, located in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, has been running a shop that offers free-of-charge clothes to the disadvantaged.

The venue, named “Zero Dong Store,” is owned by Nguyen Thi Tuyet Van in Tri Ton Town, An Giang, which has become popular not only with local residents but also with people from other localities.

HÀ NỘI — As a mother of two, 32-year-old Nguyễn Bích Liên in Hà Nội’s Hoàng Mai District says working outside and doing chores exhausts her. Liên is typical of working women in a Vietnamese city, who work eight hours or more while still take care of most of a household’s domestic work.

Liên said she and her husband leave for work at half past six in the morning. On the way to work, they drop their two children – a 5-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son – at their parents’ house where the children have breakfast, then the grandfather takes the girl to school and the grandmother looks after their son until late afternoon.

Drastically limiting the use of plastic bags, which do not decompose, the city’s People’s Committee has also asked the ministry to study and issue regulations on the use of nylon bags at markets, trade centres, convenience stores and bookstores.

Chúng tôi đã có điều kiện tham quan đập thủy điện Xayaburi. Buổi tham quan dựa trên lời của Chính phủ Lào tại “Diễn đàn khu vực các bên liên quan về Nghiên cứu hội đồng và đập thủy điện Pak Beng”, vào cuối tháng 2 tại Luang Pra Bang. Người Đô Thị ghi nhận những hình ảnh về con đập mà cho đến nay vẫn còn gây nhiều tranh cãi trong cộng đồng các nước khu vực lẫn quốc tế.

Xayaburi

Tuy nhiên, chuyến tham quan của đoàn đại biểu các nước và tổ chức dịp này cũng chỉ có thể được quan sát ở phía ngoài thủy điện và từ xa.

Hiện Xayaburi đã hoàn thành được gần 80%. Theo Lào và trả lời của Ủy hội Mekong MRC với báo giới, “đập Xayaburi được xem như là một mô hình kiểu mẫu cho tất cả các đập trên dòng chính Mekong”.

New home for rescued capitive bears in Vinh Phuc

 Vietnam Bear Sanctuary in Tam Dao National Park, Vinh Phuc, the first of its kind in the country, is opening for visitors to raise public awareness of protecting the endangered species.


Operating since April 2008, the sanctuary spans 1.2 hectares and can accommodate 200 bears.
Two newly-inaugurated semi-natural outdoor enclosures linked with two double bear houses cover a total area of more than 5,600 square metres.

VTV.vn – Hầu hết người khuyết tật cho rằng rào cản lớn nhất với họ là việc tiếp cận các công trình công cộng, do thiết kế nhiều công trình hầu như chưa tính tới người khuyết tật.

Việt Nam hiện có khoảng 7 triệu người khuyết tật, chiếm 7,8% dân số. Trong những năm qua, rất nhiều giải pháp về việc làm, giáo dục, trợ giúp tâm lý… được đưa ra để giúp người khuyết tật hòa nhập cộng đồng. Tuy nhiên, vẫn có những rào cản lớn với quá trình hòa nhập này.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese people are zinc deficient at an alarming rate, especially pregnant women and young children.The information was announced on Monday at a symposium to welcome Việt Nam Micronutrient Day (June 1-2).

A survey conducted in 2015 showed that nearly 70 per cent of children under five suffer from zinc deficiency. Children from mountainous areas are most affected, at 80.8 per cent. The figures are 71.6 per cent for children in rural areas and 49.7 per cent for children in urban areas.

“Hồn Tổ Quốc nằm trong rừng xanh thẳm/Rừng điêu tàn là Tổ Quốc điêu linh”. Đó là câu thơ mà Hoàng Đình Bá có lần đọc tôi nghe, tôi không nhớ là thơ của ai. Đối với ông Bá, rừng là Tổ Quốc. Sơn Trà là Tổ Quốc.

Trận lụt núi lở đá trôi năm Thìn 1964 gây tang thương cho Quảng Nam, khiến 6000 người chết. “Núi lở đá trôi” không phải là hình tượng ví von mà là sự thật, núi đã lở từng mảng, đá đã trôi từng tảng lớn. Sau trận lụt lịch sử này, ông Võ Chí Công (Năm Công) khi ra Hà Nội đã báo cáo với Trung Ương và nhân dân miền Bắc. Sự kiện đó đã tác động sâu sắc đến giới khoa học.
