Ms. Thư’s family sold vegetables. In addition, she also sold sugarcane juice, coconut juice and cơm bình dân. She was 35 years old and the main seller. Her dad, her mom, sometimes her older sisters and her grandchildren were the side sellers.

I knew her in the Covid time. During that time, shopping at the markets and supermarkets was very difficult. Luckily, there were some people who opened shops right in their houses. Ms. Thư’s family were one of those people. Her house was about 100 meters from my home.

During the Covid time, she sold at good prices to me. If she sold high, it was a little higher than normal, not 4-5 times higher. When the Covid time was over, she sold at normal prices.

The important thing was – Ms. Thư’s family were loyal to customers. Not that when they met a customer the first time, they sold at good prices, then when they and the customer became friends, they abused the customer’s trust and sold at high prices or sold fraudulently, like many other sellers I knew. Ms. Thư’s family was not like that. Her family was one of the very few honest traders.
