Dear brothers and sisters,
Who was Jesus?
Jesus was a person who knew what eating and drinking were.
To Jesus, eating and drinking were the good things.
1. In the wedding at Cana, Jesus ate and drank with everyone. When the wine ran out, Jesus turned water into wine. The good wine. This, the first of Jesus’s signs Jesus did. (John 2:1-12)
2. Then Jesus had dinner with tax collectors and sinners. Jesus ate with people whom no one wanted to befriend. Jesus said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” (Matthew 9:10-13)
So did Jesus mean, eating with sinners can heal them? And a physician is basically the person who knows how to eat with sinners?
3. And in the last supper, Jesus ate with his twelve disciples (Jesus’ closest friends) and taught them the most important things:
- washing the disciples’ feet,
- giving the new commandment about loving people and
- sharing all Jesus’ heart.
(John 12 – John 17)
Dear brothers and sisters,
Eating and drinking are good times. Truly, Jesus chose eating and drinking time to do precious things, so that everyone may love God and love each other more.
I love this thing in Jesus. I’m becoming the person who knows how to eat with Jesus, family and everyone.
Have a Jesus day.
