Jesus,

In my distress I call to you,
and you answer me.
From deep in the realm of the dead I call for help,
and you listen to my cry.
You, my God,
bring my life up from the pit.

My prayer rises to you.
I will make good what I have vowed.*
Please make me a channel of your peace.
