You raise me up

Dear brothers and sisters,

Below is a special song for me.

On our ĐCN’s birthday (February 7), I’ve often sent the song to anh Hoành, brothers and sisters whom we regularly work with, and all of you. I’ve wanted to say: “My dears, thank you all for raising me up. I am grateful to you from my heart. My life has changed miraculously since I met you. Thank you so much, my dears.”

The song here, with anh Hoành’s translation.

Enjoy and have a nice day. Continue reading You raise me up

I see you

Dear brothers and sisters,

Avatar is a great film. I watched it before I came into ĐCN. I love the film. The film tells about many things but I only remember a love story in the film. The beautiful love.

So when wandering in our Banana Garden in 2012, when seeing a song in the film, I was happy. I still remember how glad I was.

The great song. Enjoy.

Have a love day. Continue reading I see you

Chiến thắng Điện Biên

Dear brothers and sisters,

Because I want to understand all things about our grandfathers and grandmothers, so I often feel unhappy when I know nothing about our country’s history. When I know a little about our history, I feel I reconnect with our people, and love our people more.

I’ve thought about Điện Biên Phủ in recent days. I’ve wanted to understand The Battle of Điện Biên Phủ for a long time. So I started researching on The Battle last night.

Chiến thắng Điện Biên is a popular song about The Battle. Enjoy. Continue reading Chiến thắng Điện Biên

Everything is rhythm

“Foli” is the word used for rhythm by the Malinke tribe in West Africa. But Foli is not only found in Malinke music, but in all parts of their daily lives. Directed by Thomas Roebers, this short film portrays the people of Baro, a small town in eastern-central Guinea, and gives you a glimpse inside their culture of rhythm. As the Malinke man says, “Tous les choses, c’est du rythme.” (“Everything is rhythm.”) What makes this film even more beautiful is the fact that it was edited so as to reflect Malinke rhythms. Dear brothers and sisters,

I’ve been waiting for a long time to share with you about this song – Spring of Vivaldi.

Vivaldi had the song list Four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The song Winter was the first song I posted. So I waited for summer to come in order to share with you the song Summer. Then I waited for autumn to come in order to talk about the song Autumn. And now is spring, I’m glad to have the opportunity to share the song Spring. Continue reading Spring

Goblet drum of Amir Sofi

Dear brothers and sisters,

I’m learning to play drums. So I’m interested in all kinds of drum. There are clips about goblet drums.

The goblet drum (also chalice drum, tarabuka, tarabaki, darbuka, derbake, debuka, doumbek, dumbec, dumbeg, dumbelek, tabla, tablah, tableh, toumperleki or zerbaghali) is a single head membranophone with a goblet shaped body used mostly in Egypt, also in parts of the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and Eastern Europe. The African djembe-wassolou is also a goblet membranophone. Continue reading Goblet drum of Amir Sofi
