Ở nước mình, con trai 35 tuổi chưa vợ thì được gọi là phong độ, có giá trị (chính xác thì con trai tuổi nào cũng có giá trị; con trai tuổi càng cao càng có giá trị, người ta vẫn nói đàn ông càng lớn tuổi càng cuốn hút); còn con gái 35 tuổi chưa chồng thì gọi là gái ế, không có giá trị – con gái chỉ có giá trị từ 18-25 tuổi, sau đó thì bắt đầu giảm giá trị, gọi là gái ế, gái già; dù con gái có giỏi giang hơn con trai, không có chồng, con gái vẫn không có giá trị.
