Hôm nay chúng ta cùng nghe bản thánh ca nổi tiếng “O Come, All Ye Faithful”.

Một lần mình đi chợ trời ở Mỹ bỗng nhiên bài hát này phát lên trên đĩa nhạc. Mấy bà cô người Mỹ ngay lập tức hát vang theo với một tinh thần rất thánh thiện. Có gì đó trong bài hát rất vang dội và hưởng ứng với tấm lòng người Mỹ. 🙂

Một số dữ kiện về bài hát:

• Bài hát được cho là do John Wade viết nhạc. John Wade là một người Anh sống lưu vong ở Pháp. Vào năm 1741, ông đã phổ nhạc cho bài hát nguyên thủy bằng tiếng  Latin, tên “Adeste Fideles”.
• Bài hát bằng tiếng Latin “Adeste Fideles” sau đó được mục sư người Anh Frederick Oakeley dịch sang tiếng Anh thành bài hát  “O Come All Ye Faithful”
• Đây là bản thánh ca yêu thích của tổng thống Mỹ Thomas Jefferson và Dwight D. Eisenhower.
