VASS doctoral incubator ‘hatches’ 1 PhD every 1.76 days

VietNamNet Bridge – At the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), one teacher guides up to 44 PhD students and one PhD is produced every 1.76 days.
MOET’s inspectors have found many problems in enrollment, training management and degree granting at VASS.
In 2015 and 2016, the academy produced 2,811 master’s degree graduates, but did not report this to MOET.

The Mekong River is undergoing rapid dam construction. Seven main stream dams are under construction in China and 133 proposed for the Lower Mekong River Basin (LMRB).

Viet Nam News QUẢNG NAM — The Chàm island’s Marine Protected Area (MPA) management board started conservation of the green turtle (Chelonia mydas) by hatching 450 eggs taken from Côn Đảo Island on August 30.

“I was lied to about my job. I wanted to leave but at some point, I realised I wasn’t allowed to go. Nobody had to tell me but I knew I was trapped,” says the 22-year-old. “I didn’t know where I was or how to go home.”
