Prayer 626

The prayer series

Jesus,

I feel a little down.
This suit isn’t as good as I think.

Our people now seem to like dress sexy or casually
instead of dressing formally in business.
And I dress like a person living in 1920, not 2020.

The wind comes.
You are comforting me?
You are bringing me joy?

Jesus, would you like to give me money?
Then you’ll lead me to another good tailor shop to make other suits?
Then you’ll buy pearl necklaces for me?
Nice watches, heels and many other things?

🙂

I’m poor
but I live as a princess.
My mom always tells me that.

Yes, I always think I’m a princess.
And truly I’m a Princess of God.
So I should live as who I am, right?

Would you like to clothe me so nice? 🙂

I love you, my God.

Amen.

The last five years have been Earth’s warmest since records began in 1880

Technologyreview February 7, 2019

A depiction of how temperatures have risen over North America from 2014 to 2018

2018 was the fourth warmest year since records began in 1880, according to studies out today from NASA, the UK Met Office, and the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Record-breaking: The NASA study found that Earth’s global surface temperature last year was 0.83 °C warmer than the 1951-1980 mean. That temperature was topped only in 2016, 2017, and 2015. The data shows that the last five years are collectively the warmest ever recorded, while 18 of the 19 hottest years have taken place since 2001. The NOAA study, which uses a different methodology, agreed.

Slow and Steady: Vietnam’s Spratly Upgrades

April 8, 2019  |  AMTI BRIEF

Vietnam continues to quietly upgrade its facilities in the Spratly Islands, though apparently without facing the same reaction from China’s maritime militia forces as the Philippines recently has. Vietnam occupies 49 outposts spread across 27 features in the vicinity of the Spratly Islands. Of those 27 features, only 10 can be called islets while the rest are mostly underwater reefs and banks.

Spratly Island is the largest of Vietnam’s outposts and the administrative center of its presence in the area. In 2015-16, Vietnam undertook an expansion of the island to extend its small runway and create a protected harbor.

By Pat Ranald
