DT – Dựa trên các nghiên cứu và tính toán của mình, các chuyên gia kinh tế và nhóm nghiên cứu của Viện Nghiên cứu Kinh tế và Chính sách (VEPR) đã khẳng định: Việt Nam sẽ là nước hưởng lợi nhiều nhất khi tham gia vào Hiệp định Đối tác xuyên Thái Bình Dương (TPP).

Mỹ: TPP sẽ bảo vệ công nhân và môi trường thế giới

TTO – Ngày 20-5, Ngoại trưởng Mỹ John Kerry khẳng định Hiệp định Đối tác xuyên Thái Bình Dương (TPP) sẽ đề ra “các tiêu chuẩn cao nhất” để bảo vệ giới công nhân và môi trường thế giới.

Theo AFP, trao đổi với các công nhân nhà máy Boeing ở Renton, Ngoại trưởng Kerry mô tả TPP là “một thỏa thuận thương mại lịch sử”.

(TNO) Đường tới Hiệp định Đối tác xuyên Thái Bình Dương (TPP) của Mỹ trở nên bất lợi sau khi kết quả bỏ phiếu tại Thượng viện không đủ để quốc hội nước này trao quyền xúc tiến thương mại (TPA) cho Tổng thống Barack Obama.

Thượng viện Mỹ ngày 12.5 đã đưa dự luật nhằm trao quyền đàm phán nhanh hay quyền xúc tiến thương mại (TPA) về tự do thương mại cho Tổng thống Barack Obama ra bỏ phiếu. Với kết quả 52 phiếu thuận và 41 phiếu chống, dự luật này đã không được thông qua do điều kiện phải có ít nhất 60 phiếu thuận, theo The Wall Street Journal (Mỹ). Dù Hiệp định Thương mại Xuyên Thái Bình Dương (TPP) có một số điều khoản có lợi cho kinh tế Việt Nam, nhưng cũng có vài điều khoản Việt Nam cần đặc biệt quan tâm đến. Trong số đó, điều khoản “Giải quyết Tranh Chấp giữa Nhà đầu tư và Quốc gia” (Investor-State Dispute Settlement, viết tắt là “ISDS”) là điều khoản sẽ ảnh hưởng trực tiếp đến chủ quyền tài phán quốc gia và làm suy yếu luật pháp quốc gia, đặc biệt là trong lãnh vực môi trường và y tế. The irony hit its crescendo at the very place where the Vietnam War drew to its end 40 years ago.

Last week, a banner announcing the shareholders’ meeting of the Saigon Securities Incorporation flapped on the gates of the Independence Palace — the same place a pair North Vietnamese tanks made their dramatic entrance on April 30, 1975.

TTN – Senior U.S. lawmakers reached agreement on Thursday on a bill to give the White House “fast track” authority to negotiate a trade pact with 11 other Pacific nations that is central to President Barack Obama’s strategic shift toward Asia.

Representatives from the United States and 11 other Pacific Rim countries convened to decide the future of their trade relations in the so-called Trans-Pacific Partnership (T.P.P.). Powerful companies appear to have been given influence over the proceedings, even as full access is withheld from many government officials from the partnership countries.
