Tết Tết Tết đến rồi. Bây giờ mỗi dịp Tết, nghe câu hát ấy và bài hát Happy New Year, lòng mình vẫn cứ rộn ràng và dường như thêm một lần được trở về hoài niệm ngày Xuân của tuổi nhỏ.
Ấy là những niềm vui tràn trề của tuổi thơ: được mặc quần áo mới, khoe tiền lì xì mừng tuổi, bánh mứt đủ đầy, và tạm quên bài vở trường học ít hôm.
Còn bây giờ là những ngày tất bật lo toan cho những nghi thức, tập tục của người lớn, nhà cửa tinh tươm, bày biện bàn thờ, ngắm hoa Xuân, du lịch, có một ít thời khắc cho việc thăm viếng và những lời chúc tụng, đi lễ đầu năm, vui chơi và nghỉ ngơi…
Nhạc Xuân không bao giờ cũ và là một nhu cầu không thể thiếu với mình và của các bạn. Hôm nay ngoài 10 bản nhạc Xuân dành riêng cho ngày 30 Tết, xin gửi lên đây thiệp chúc Tết của Nhạc Xanh với những lời chúc một năm mới Canh Dần tốt lành, an hoà, hạnh phúc và thịnh vượng đến với tất cả các anh chị em và các bạn của Đọt Chuối Non .

Tình yêu làm trái đất quay ( Love makes the world go round).
Yêu thương- cảm xúc tuyệt vời nhất trong mọi xúc cảm của con người.

Chúng ta có Ngày Của Cha, Ngày Của Mẹ, Ngày Phụ Nữ…
Vì thế không thể thiếu một ngày cho những người yêu nhau.

Ngày Valentine còn gọi là ngày Lễ Tình Nhân, riêng cho những người yêu nhau. Các cặp nam nữ thường trao nhau những món quà xinh xắn, những cành hồng tươi thắm, và những cách thể hiện tình yêu vào ngày 14/ 2. Tại sao lại là ngày 14/ 2?
Một truyền thuyết lãng mạn, dù chẳng có chứng cớ gì cả, là Ngày Thánh Valentine bi tử hình thời đế chế La Mã.
Dưới sự trị vì của Hoàng đế Claudius đệ nhị, đế chế La Mã tham gia nhiều cuộc chinh phạt đẫm máu và không được người dân ủng hộ. Bạo chúa Claudius gặp nhiều khó khăn trong việc động viên các chàng trai trẻ gia nhập vào đội chiến binh của ông ta. Claudius cho rằng nguyên nhân chính là đàn ông La Mã không muốn rời xa gia đình hay người yêu của mình. Bởi vậy, Claudius ra lệnh cấm tất cả các đám cưới hoặc lễ đính hôn ở thành La Mã. Thánh Valentine tốt bụng là một linh mục ở thành La Mã dưới thời Claudius đệ nhị.
Ông cùng thánh Marius đã giúp đỡ những người Cơ Ðốc giáo phải chịu cảnh đọa đầy và bí mật làm phép cưới cho những đôi người yêu thànhvợ chồng. Vì hành động nhân ái này mà Thánh đã bị bắt giam và bị kéo lê trước mặt tên thái thú thành La Mã. Hắn đã xử Thánh Valentine phải bị đánh bằng gậy đến chết và sau đó phải bị chặt đầu. Valentine phải chịu cuộc hành hình vào đúng ngày 14 tháng 2 vào khoảng năm 270 TCN. Vào thời gian này đang diễn ra một phong tục truyền thống của người dân thành La Mã, thực ra đó là một lễ hội rất cổ xưa được tổ chức vào tháng 2, lễ hội Lupercalia, lễ hội để nhớ đến một vị thần của người La Mã.
Dần dà lễ Lupercalia cũng được đổi tên thành lễ Valentine và được các vị giáo sĩ chọn tổ chức vào ngày 14/2. Lễ Tình nhân đã bắt nguồn từ đây.
Lễ Valentine ban đầu chỉ phổ biến ở châu Âu nhưng sau đó, nó ngày càng lan rộng đến hầu khắp các nước, từ Châu Á đến châu Mỹ và cả châu Phi xa xôi nữa.
Những món quà được ưa chuộng ở châu Âu vào ngày lễ này thường là hoa và chocolate Ở Châu Âu, trong dịp này, người Pháp thường tặng nhau hoa và những thỏi sô cô la đơn giản với hương vị thuần khiết, ít đường, không cần phụ gia trong khi người Ý lại thích các sản phẩm cầu kỳ, còn người Anh lại gửi cho nhau những tấm thiệp mừng. Điều đặc biệt là trong ngày này, mọi tấm thiếp có hàng chữ Valentine Greeting đều không phải dán tem nếu gửi trong nội bộ nước Anh.
Ở châu Á thì sao?
Người Thái thích tặng nhau sô cô la trắng, còn người Nhật lại thích sô cô la sữa. Người Singapore và Hồng Kông ưa chuộng sô cô la sậm màu.
Năm nay ngày Valentine 14/ 2// 2010 lại rơi trúng ngày mồng một Tết Canh Dần. Như thế ngày lễ này có ý nghĩa đặc biệt: lễ kép vừa thiêng liêng với truyền thống dân tộc, vừa đặc biệt của những người yêu nhau.
Ở Việt Nam, ngoài hoa hồng là tặng vật không thể thiếu, còn những quà tặng nào khác được ưa thích chắc các bạn trẻ rành hơn người dịch và tổng hợp bài này. Xin các bạn bổ sung vào đây nhé.

Xuân cho già trẻ sắt son
Xuân đi, vạn vật mãi còn mùa xuân
Đông tàn, Xuân đến. Đất trời tưng bừng khai hội cho lòng người rạo rực tình Xuân. Nhựa sống căng tràn. Sắc Xuân tươi thắm. Mùa của hi vọng. Mùa của yêu thương, cỏ cây hoa lá đua nở thắm tươi, trái tim của con người dường như trẻ lại và thấy yêu đời. Âm nhạc, đặc biệt nhạc Xuân luôn là một nguồn vui lớn, một món ăn tinh thần gần gũi và tự nhiên như thịt mỡ, bánh tét, bánh chưng và dưa hành. Nhạc Xuân ngân vang khúc reo vui, thể hiện những niềm hân hoan, những rung cảm của lòng người hoà vào tiết điệu của thiên nhiên. Do vậy nhạc Xuân của chúng ta vô cùng phong phú và đặc sắc.
Hôm nay Nhạc Xanh bắt đầu chương trình Những Khúc Ca Xuân trên Đọt Chuối Non. Các bạn sẽ thưởng thức những bản nhạc Xuân chọn lọc được yêu mến qua nhiều năm tháng bởi nhiều thế hệ. Các bạn sẽ nghe 50 bản nhạc xuân được post trong 4 ngày giáp Tết. Tất nhiên trong những ngày Tết ngoài nhạc yêu cầu được post vào ngày mồng một Tết, các bạn vẫn có thể trở lại với 50 bản nhạc này.
Hôm nay mời các bạn reo vang khúc hát giao mùa với 10 bài tân nhạc được xếp loại cổ điển đã làm say đắm bao người khi mùa về.
Xin được nói đôi điều về hai bản nhạc mở đầu trong số những bài mình yêu thích nhất
Bài thứ nhất là Xuân và Tuổi Trẻ, một sáng tác của La Hối – thơ Thế Lữ, do ca sĩ Ánh Tuyết thể hiện.. Nhạc sĩ La Hối ra đi khi còn rất trẻ chỉ mới 25 mùa xuân cho đời nhưng bài hát của người nghệ sĩ tài hoa này bất tử với ca từ và giai điệu tươi trẻ, lạc quan, yêu đời, tràn đầy khát vọng.
Có ai trong chúng ta không thấy lòng phơi phới, rạo rực khi nghe điệu Valse lã lướt reo vui như chính nhịp điệu mùa Xuân:
“Ngày thắm tươi bên đời xuân mới
Lòng đắm say bao nguồn vui sống
Xuân về với ngàn hoa đua thắm
Ta muốn hái muôn ngàn đóa hồng…”
Bài thứ hai : Em Ơi Mùa Xuân Đến Rồi Đó, của nhạc sĩ Trần Chung qua giọng ca tuyệt vời của NSND Lê Dung để tưởng nhớ đến người nữ nghệ sĩ lớn này. Đích thực đây là một bản tình ca Xuân về tình yêu, đất nước và con người. với những biểu tượng của mùa “ngàn hoa thắm đỏ”, và “chim én lướt bay về”.
Chàng trai gửi gắm cho người yêu những lời giản dị mà sâu sắc về cuộc đời , ước vọng, hạnh phúc, niềm riêng và tình chung. “Em ơi mùa xuân đến rồi đó
Thắm đỏ ngàn hoa khát mặt trời”
Dần về sau, tiết tấu bài nhạc nhanh, rộn ràng như sức trẻ căng đầy với :
“Nghe không gian mênh mông trong lời ca yêu thương đến với muôn đời, Xuân ước vọng ngàn năm lại tới.”
Để rồi kết thúc với lời mời gọi tha thiết:
“ Này em hãy hát lên cùng mùa xuân mới xinh tươi
Em ơi mùa xuân đến rồi đó giang rộng vòng tay đón cuộc đời …”

Pablo Neruda sinh tại thị trấn Parral, miền Trung Chile ngày 13-7 -1904 Đây là bút danh và về sau là tên chính thức của nhà thơ kiêm chính trị gia người Chile Neftalí Ricardo Reyes Basoalto. Ông học tiếng Pháp và Giáo dục học, rồi dạy tiếng Pháp, làm nhà ngoại giao, đi rất nhiều nơi trên thế giới; là một trong những nhân vật quan trọng trong chính quyền Chile. Ông làm lãnh sự Chile ở nhiều nơi như Burma (nay là Myanma), Argentina, và Tây Ban Nha. Năm 1945 được bầu vào Thượng nghị viện, nhưng mấy năm sau bị buộc tội phản quốc và phải trốn sang Mexico vì đã công khai phê phán chính phủ đương nhiệm.
Năm 1970 ông về nước ra tranh cử tổng thống, là bạn và người ủng hộ nhiệt thành của tổng thống Salvador Allende. Neruda mất tại thủ đô Santiago ngày 23-9-1973 vì bệnh tim.
Thơ Neruda được dịch ra nhiều thứ tiếng. Ông rất nổi tiếng và được yêu mến trên khắp thế giới và đặc biệt ở Việt Nam. Ông được coi là một trong những nhà thơ hàng đầu của thế kỉ 20.Tiểu thuyết gia Columnia Gabriel García Márquez đã gọi ông là “ Nhà thơ vĩ đại nhất của thế kỷ 20 của bất cứ ngôn ngữ gì”.
Pablo Neruda bắt đầu sự nghiệp văn chương khi còn rất trẻ. Hai mươi tuổi, ông xuất bản tập thơ Viente poemas de amor y una canciún desesperada (Hai Mươi Bài Thơ Tình Và Một Bài Thơ Tuyệt Vọng), tập thơ bán chạy nhất ở Chile, làm ông thành danh như một những nhà thơ trẻ nổi tiếng nhất Châu Mỹ Latinh. Tập thơ Canto general (Bài Ca Chung), gồm 340 bài thơ, được coi là kiệt tác đỉnh cao trong sự nghiệp sáng tác của ông.
Neruda đã đi từ trường phái biểu tượng sang siêu thực và cuối cùng trở thành hiện thực. Là một nhà thơ nhập cuộc, nhà thơ chiến đấu, ảnh hưởng của thơ ông đối với các dân tộc nói tiếng Tây Ban Nha là rất lớn. Năm 1971 ông được trao giải Nobel vì những lời thơ phản kháng vang khắp thế giới, có một trí tưởng tượng mãnh liệt và chất trữ tình tế nhị. Neruda là nhà nghệ sĩ cách mạng đấu tranh cho phong trào giải phóng dân tộc ở Mỹ Latinh và hòa bình thế giới, là tác giả của những kiệt tác thơ tình cuồng nhiệt, những áng thơ triết lý sâu sắc và của cả những bản tụng ca những điều giản dị, đời thường.

Trên đảo Key West, bang Florida, ngày ngày có nhiều tiếng chuông, tiếng kèn vang vọng trước căn nhà thiết kế theo kiểu Tây Ban Nha của đại văn hào Mỹ Ernest Hemingway. Đây không phải Chuông Nguyện Hồn Ai (For Whom The Bell Told, một tiểu thuyết nổi tiếng của nhà văn đã yên nghỉ năm 1961), mà là tiếng chuộng, hay kèn do những du khách hiếu kỳ muốn tự mình đếm xem có bao nhiêu con trong số “những con mèo yêu của Hemingway” nay đã sinh sôi nảy nở.
Không riêng ở các nước phương Tây, mèo cũng rất được ưa chuộng ở Việt Nam như một con vật nuôi trong nhà, vừa có ích, vừa làm bầu bạn cho vui cửa nhà và bầy trẻ.
Có khá nhiều thành ngữ, tục ngữ thế giới liên quan đến chú mèo tiểu hổ này:
Con mèo hay kêu là mèo bắt chuột tồi. (Tây Ban Nha).
Khi chuột và mèo hòa hoãn với nhau thì thức ăn của chúng sẽ phải chịu nhiều đau khổ. (Ả Rập).

Mèo là thú cưng được ưa chuộng nhất của người Mỹ.Thế nên chẳng có gì ngạc nhiên khi có rất nhiều thành ngữ về mèo. Một vài con mèo thích bắt những con chim nhỏ, như chim hoàng yến. Nếu một ai đó trông rất tự hào hoặc hài lòng với bản thân, ta nói anh ta trông huênh hoang(như thể mèo ăn được chim hoàng yến)
Đôi khi, mèo thích chơi với các con vật nhỏ mà nó bắt được.
Vậy nếu bạn chơi trò mèo vờn chuột với ai đó , ban thay đổi những hành vi khác nhau khi giao thiệp với người khác.Ví dụ, một đứa trẻ có thể ngõ ý cho cậu em trai của nó ăn kẹo và rồi lấy lại khi mà em nó đưa tay lấy.
Mèo sẽ thường bắt con vật nhỏ và đem khoe với người chủ của nó. Câu nói giống như một cái gì thảm hại diễn tả một thứ gì đó trong tình trạng tồi tệ.
Hai thành ngữ cổ và ngộ nghĩnh diễn tả một thứ gì đó là tốt nhất hay tuyệt nhất.Người Mỹ có thể nói rằng cái đó là tiếng mèo kêu meo và bộ đồ ngủ của mèo.
Trẻ em có thể gọi một đứa trẻ dễ bị hù doạ là một kẻ nhát gan (fraidy cat) hoặc kẻ nhát cáy ( scaredy cat).
Người bắt chước (copycat) là người hành động giống y hệt người khác hoặc sao chép công việc của người khác. Nhà tài phiệt (fat cat) là một người có rất nhiều tiền
Chắc bạn cũng biết mèo dành hầu hết thời gian để ngủ. Đôi khi người ta ngủ một chút vào ban ngày. Đây gọi là chợp mắt.
Nếu bạn nói về một điều mà được cho là bí mật, ta nói bạn tiết lộ bí mật. Nếu bạn không thể nói hay trả lời câu hỏi, người ta có thể hỏi bạn không thể nói gì phải không (con mèo đã lấy mất lưỡi của bạn à?)
Bạn có bao giờ quan sát bọn trẻ trong lớp khi giáo viên ra khỏi lớp vài phút chưa? Khi mèo đi vắng, chuột sẽ phá phách nghĩa là người ta đôi khi cư xử không đúng đắn khi không bị giám sát.
Có lẽ bạn đã nghe câu thành ngữ này: tò mò có ngày thiệt thân (tò mò giết chết con mèo). Câu này có nghĩa là quá quan tâm đến những việc không phải của mình thì có thể sẽ gặp rắc rối.
Nếu nhà bạn quá nhỏ, bạn có thể nói chật chội tù túng quá (không đủ chỗ để quay con mèo) .Nhưng có lẽ bạn không nên thử làm thế này ở nhà.
Nếu bạn từng nuôi mèo như thú cưng, bạn biết rất khó để huấn luyện hay bắt chúng làm gì.Mèo không giống như cừu hay bò mà có thể lùa đi theo đàn. Thế nên ta nói một công việc khó khăn hoặc bất khả thi là như đi chăn mèo.

Cats are the most popular pets among Americans. So it is not surprising that there are many expressions about cats. Some cats like to catch small birds, like canaries. If someone looks very proud or satisfied with himself, we say he looks like the cat that ate the canary.
Sometimes, a cat likes to play with a small animal it catches.
So if you play cat and mouse with someone, you change between different kinds of behavior when dealing with another person. For example, a child might offer something sweet to her little brother and then take it away when he reaches for it.
A cat will often catch a small animal and present it to its owner. The saying that looks like something the cat dragged in describes something in bad condition.
Two old and funny expressions describe something that is the best or finest. Americans might say that something is the cat’s meow and the cat’s pajamas.
Children might call a child who is easily frightened a fraidy cat or a scaredy cat. A copycat is someone who acts just like someone else or copies another person’s work. A fat cat is a person with a lot of money.
You may have known that cats spend most of their time sleeping. Sometimes people sleep for a short time during the day. This is called a cat nap.
If you tell about something that was supposed to be a secret, we say you let the cat out of the bag. If you are not able to speak or answer a question someone might ask if the cat has got your tongue.
Have you ever watched children in a classroom when their teacher leaves for a few minutes? When the cat’s away, the mice will play means people sometimes misbehave when there is no supervision.
You may have heard this expression: curiosity killed the cat.This means being too concerned about things that are not your business might cause problems.

Air Supply là một nhóm nhạc soft rock nổi tiếng khắp thế giới, chính thức ra đời vào năm 1976 tại thành phố Melbourne, Victoria – nước Úc. Ban đầu, Air Supply gồm 5 thành viên là Russell Hitchcock, ca sĩ chính và cũng là người hát bè cho Russell (sinh ngày 15-6-1949,), Graham Russell nhạc sĩ của nhóm, chơi guitar (sinh ngày 1-6-1950,), Frank Esler Smith chơi Keyboard, David Moyse, chơi Guitar Lead, David Green , chơi Guitar Bass, và tay trống Ralph Cooper .

Air Supply đã mang đến những phút sảng khoái với chất nhạc soft rock trữ tình đặc trưng của mình. Giọng ca của Russell Hitchcock khi trầm, khi bổng, ngân vang và hơi rung thật dài. Graham Russell vẫn tài hoa solo nhiều đoạn guitar đầy ngẫu hứng. cả hai đã làm cho khán giả Việt yệu pop rock của Air Supply thỏa nỗi khát khao đắm mình và bùng nổ trong một không gian âm nhạc tuyệt vời .

Mỗi dân tộc có một cách nói riêng, những đặc ngữ của riêng họ. Nhiều thành ngữ thông dụng của người Mỹ dựa trên màu sắc.
Màu đỏ là một màu nóng. Người Mỹ dùng nó để thể hiện sức nóng. Họ có thể nói họ đang nóng tiết/ nóng phừng phừng lên vì một chuyện bất công nào đó. Khi họ nóng tiết nghĩa là họ đang rất tức giận vì chuyện gì đó. Loài ớt nhỏ, cay được dùng trong nhiều món ăn Mêhicô thì gọi là ớt đỏ (red hots) vì màu và vị cay mạnh của chúng. Nhạc chơi nhanh và to đuợc nhiều người rất ưa thích. Họ có thể nói nhạc đó “ red hot”, đặc biệt là loại nhạc Jazz. Dixieland.
Màu hồng là một loại màu nhạt hơn của màu đỏ. Ngưòi ta hay nói họ đang tươi hồng khi họ khỏe. Thành ngữ này được sử dụng đầu tiên bởi ngưòi Mỹ đầu thế kỉ 20. Có thể nó bắt nguồn từ việc em bé sinh ra hồng hào cho thấy rằng chúng đang khỏe.
Xanh dương là một màu mát. Loại nhạc blues truyền thống ở Mỹ thì đối lập với nhạc red hot đỏ. Nhạc blue chậm, buồn và có hồn. Duke Ellington và ban nhạc của ông thu âm một bài hát nổi tiếng-Mood Indigo-về một màu xanh trầm, màu chàm. Trong lời bài hát có câu: “Bạn chưa biết buồn chừng nào mà bạn chưa từng trải qua cảm giác xanh Indigo đó”. Khi ai đó đang xanh blue thì nghĩa là họ đang rất buồn.
Màu xanh lá là màu tự nhiên của cỏ cây. Nhưng không tự nhiên đối với người. Một người mà bị đau bụng thì có thể nói cô ấy hơi xanh tái. Một hành khách trên thuyền bị say sóng thì trông xanh mét mặt mày.
Đôi khi ngưòi ta buồn vì không có một thứ gì đó tốt bằng bạn mình, như một chiếc xe mới chạy nhanh. Người đó có thể nói rằng anh ta xanh lên vì ghen tị. Một vài ngưòi ghen tị vì một người bạn có nhiều tiền hay giấy xanh. Tờ đô-la được gọi là giấy xanh vì mặt sau nó có màu xanh.
Màu đen rất hay đựơc sử dụng trong diễn đạt. Người ta tả một ngày mà mọi việc đều xui xẻo là một ngày đen tối. Một ngày mà có một thảm họa xảy ra thì được nhớ đến là một ngày đen tối. Bây giờ một danh sách đen là bất hợp pháp. Nhưng có một thời các ông chủ từ chối thuê những ngưòi trên danh sách đen vì họ thuộc những hội kín.
Ở một vài trường hợp, màu sắc thể hiện một tình huống. Một giảm điện/ tối nâu là một thành ngữ thể hiện sự giảm cường độ điện. Giảm địên xảy ra khi có quá nhiều nhu cầu về điện. Hệ thống điện không còn đủ khả năng để cung cấp điện cho toàn khu vực. Tối đen rất phổ biến thời Thế Chiến II. Các sĩ quan đã cho tắt hết điện trong thành phố để làm cho máy bay địch khó phát hiện mục tiêu trong đêm tối.

I FEEL VERY BLUE
Every people has its own way of saying things, its own special expressions. Many everyday American expressions are based on colors.
Red is a hot color. Americans often use it to express heat. They may say they are red hot about something unfair. When they are red hot they are very angry about something. The small hot tasting peppers found in many Mexican foods are called red hots for their color and their fiery taste. Fast loud music is popular with many people. They may say the music is red hot, especially the kind called Dixieland jazz.
Pink is a lighter kind of red. People sometimes say they are in the pink when they are in good health. The expression was first used in America at the beginning of the twentieth century. It probably comes from the fact that many babies are born with a nice pink color that shows that they are in good health.
Blue is a cool color. The traditional blues music in the United States is the opposite of red hot music. Blues is slow, sad and soulful. Duke Ellington and his orchestra recorded a famous song – Mood Indigo – about the deep blue color, indigo. In the words of the song: “You ain’t been blue till you’ve had that Mood Indigo.” Someone who is blue is very sad.
The color green is natural for trees and grass. But it is an unnatural color for humans. A person who has a sick feeling stomach may say she feels a little green. A passenger on a boat who is feeling very sick from high waves may look very green.
Sometimes a person may be upset because he does not have something as nice as a friend has, like a fast new car. That person may say he is green with envy. Some people are green with envy because a friend has more dollars or greenbacks. Dollars are called greenbacks because that is the color of the back side of the paper money.
The color black is used often in expressions. People describe a day in which everything goes wrong as a black day. The date of a major tragedy is remembered as a black day. A blacklist is illegal now. But at one time, some businesses refused to employ people who were on a blacklist for belonging to unpopular organizations.
In some cases, colors describe a situation. A brown out is an expression for a reduction in electric power. Brown outs happen when there is too much demand for electricity. The electric system is unable to offer all the power needed in an area. Black outs were common during World War Two. Officials would order all lights in a city turned off to make it difficult for enemy planes to find a target in the dark of night.

CÀ RỐT, TRỨNG VÀ CÀ PHÊ
Một củ cà rốt, một quả trứng, và một tách cà phê… Bạn sẽ chẳng bao giờ nhìn vào một tách cà phê cùng một cách giống nhau.
Một phụ nữ trẻ đến gặp mẹ mình và xin bà nói cho cô về cuộc đời và những khó khăn của bà. Cô không biết cô sẽ tạo dựng đời mình như thế nào và muốn buông xuôi. Cô sợ đấu tranh và nỗ lực. Dường như với cô vừa giải quyết được một vấn đề, một vấn đề khác nảy sinh.
Bà mẹ đưa con gái vào nhà bếp. Bà đổ đầy 3 nồi nước và đặt chúng lên bếp lửa to. chẳng mấy chốc những cái nồi sôi. Bà cho cà rốt vào nồi thứ nhất, cái thứ hai bà cho trứng, và trong cái thứ ba bà cho cà phê bột. Bà lặng thinh cứ để những chiếc nồi sôi.
Hai mươi phút sau bà tắt bếp. Bà vớt cà rốt ra cho vào một cái bát. Bà lấy trứng ra cho vào một cái tô. Rồi bà lấy vá múc cà phê cho vào bát. Quay sang người con gái, bà hỏi: “ “ Cho mẹ biết con thấy gì?”
“Dạ con thấy cà rốt, quả trứng và cà phê” , cô trả lời
Bà mẹ kéo cô đến gần hơn và bảo cô sờ vào cà rốt. Cô làm thế và nhận xét rằng cà rốt mềm. Bà lại bảo cô lấy một quả trứng và đập trứng. Sau khi bóc vỏ, cô nhận xét trứng luộc chín
Sau cùng bà mẹ bảo người con nhấp từng ngụm cà phê. Cô cười vui khi nếm hương vị cà phê đậm đà. Sau đó cô hỏi: “Điều này có ý nghĩa gì hả mẹ?”
Người mẹ giải thích rằng cả ba thứ đều phải đối đầu với một nghịch cảnh: nước sôi. Mỗi thứ phản ứng một cách khác nhau. Cà rốt khi cho vào chắc cứng, và không gãy. Tuy nhiên, sau khi chịu nước sôi, nó mềm và nhão ra. Trứng chưa luộc rất dễ vỡ. Lớp vỏ mỏng ngoài của nó bảo vệ chất lỏng bên trong, nhưng sau khi phải chịu nấu trong nước sôi, phần ruột của nó cứng đi. Tuy nhiên, cà phê mới độc đáo. Con từng có một thái độ mềm mỏng, nhưng nỗi đớn đau sinh ly, tử biệt, một tan vỡ, một khó khăn tài chính, hay một nỗi gian truân nào đó đã khiến con xơ cứng? Lớp vỏ của con trông như xưa, nhưng bên trong con cay đắng và ương ngạnh với một thái độ cứng nhắc và trái tim trơ cứng?
Hay con là hạt cà phê? Hạt cà phê thực sự biến đổi nước sôi, chính là hoàn cảnh gây đau khổ. Khi nước nóng, nó toả ra hương vị thơm ngon. Nếu con giống hạt cà phê, khi mọi chuyện tệ nhất, con có trở nên tốt hơn và thay đổi hoàn cảnh xung quanh?
Vào giờ tăm tối nhất, gian khổ, và nghiệt ngã nhất, con có nâng mình lên một mức không? Con đương đầu với nghịch cảnh như thế nào? Con là cà rốt, quả trứng, hay hạt cà phê?
Cầu chúc bạn đủ hạnh phúc để dịu dàng, đủ thử thách để mạnh mẽ, đủ nỗi buồn để biết cảm thông và đủ hi vọng để hạnh phúc.
Người hạnh phúc nhất không nhất thiết phải có mọi điều tốt đẹp nhất; họ chỉ tận hưởng những gì tốt nhất đến với họ. Tương lai tươi sáng nhất luôn đuợc xây trên nền một quá khứ biết lãng quên, bạn không thể bước tới khi bạn chưa quên thất bại và đau buồn trong quá khứ

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee….You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, ‘ Tell me what you see.’
‘Carrots, eggs, and coffee,’ she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hardboiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, ‘What does it mean, mother?’
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
‘Which are you?’ she asked her daughter. ‘When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can’t go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

Về các bản nhạc chỉ xin đề cập đến vài giọng ca có thể hơi lạ với một số các bạn như Corinne Bailey Rae trong bài thứ 6, Put Your Records On. với giai điệu tha thiết, khắc khoải, trữ tình, mênh mang như đại dương xanh và u uẩn, sâu thẳm như ánh mắt thiếu nữ xa xăm, chắc chắn bạn sẽ ngạc nhiên một cách thú vị mà tìm biết về ca sĩ. Đó là giọng ca vàng Demis Roussos.
Hôm nay Nhạc Xanh mời các bạn thưởng thức một giọng ca đặc biệt, một người con của 2 xứ sở được mệnh danh là cái nôi của văn minh nhân loại. Demis Roussos, có tên đầy đủ là: Artemios Ventouris Roussos, Ông là một trong những giọng ca vàng với những bản tình ca vô cùng dễ thương, âm hưởng độc đáo mà nghe chỉ một lần không thể nào quên.
Demis Roussos sinh ra tại Origin Alexandria, Ai Cập ngày 15/ 6/ 1946. Cha mẹ ông là người Hi Lạp, George và Olga. Sau cuộc khủng hoảng kênh đào Suez, cha mẹ ông trở về cố hương Hi Lạp.
Năm 1963, khi 17 tuổi Roussos tham gia nhóm nhạc The Idols và sau này 2 nhóm nhạc khác. Ông bắt đầu nổi tiếng khi tham gia ban nhạc Progressive Rock vừa là ca sĩ rock, pop, Rock pop-folk vừa sử dụng đàn guitar bass. Sự nghiệp của ông đạt đến đỉnh vào thập niên 1970 với nhiều album top hit cao ở nhiều nước như My Friend The Wind, Forever and Ever, Goodbye My Love Goodbye
Album solo đầu tay của Demis “On The Greek Side Of My Mind”, phát hành tháng 11/1971. Tháng 3/1972, ông hoàn tất single solo thứ hai “No Way Out”. Đĩa đơn thứ ba “My Reason”, đạt hit ở phạm vi toàn thế giới mùa hè năm 1972. Thành công nối tiếp thành công, LP solo thứ hai ra mắt công chúng tháng 4/1973 cùng tên với single kèm theo “Forever And Ever”, trở thành nhạc phẩm kinh điển, tiêu thụ tới hơn 12 triệu bản (tính đến nay). LP “Forever And Ever” có tới sáu ca khúc thành công xếp vào đỉnh cao gồm “Goodbye My Love Goodbye”, “Velvet Mornings”, “Lovely Lady Of Arcadia”, “My Friend The Wind” và “My Reason” mà phần lớn sẽ được giới thiệu ở đây.
Roussos rất thành công ở nhiều nước châu Âu, Anh, Pháp, Mỹ, Đức, Bồ Đào Nha
và các nước châu Mỹ Latin, gần đây là các chuyến lưu diễn thành công ở Nga, Dubai
Ông hiện là khách mời của một số nhà thờ và hát trong các cuộc lễ nghi thức trang trọng.
Ảnh hưởng của Demis Roussos rất rõ nét trong nhạc phim Ấn Độ. Một vài bản nhạc của ông được các đạo diễn phim ca nhạc Ấn sao chép trực tiếp nguyên bản như “Lovely Lady of Arcadia”
