Vietnam reports 14 new COVID-19 cases, all imported

HANOI (Reuters) – Vietnam’s health ministry on Monday reported 14 new coronavirus infections, all among Vietnamese citizens held in quarantine upon their arrival from overseas.

The Southeast Asian country has been 81 days without a domestically transmitted infection due to successful programmes to contain the virus. It has yet to report any deaths from the coronavirus and has confirmed 369 cases in total, over 90% of which have recovered.

The MIC is reviewing a proposal to add the requirement that internal websites and specialised websites posting aggregated information have to obtain licenses of establishing aggregated information websites following the Article 23 4.b of the draft amendment of Decree No.72/2013/ND-CP outlining the management, provision, and the use of internet service and online information.

BEIJING: Hong Kong police fired water cannon and tear gas and arrested more than 300 people on Wednesday (Jul 1) as protesters took to the streets in defiance of a new security law.

Israel’s annexation of parts of the occupied West Bank has been fiercely criticised by not only Palestinians but by the international community at large.

The plan, which aims to annex all illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank – including the strategic Jordan Valley – amounts to one-third of the territory and is in line with US President Donald Trump’s so-called “Middle East plan,” which envisages a demilitarised Palestinian state on a patchwork of disjointed parts of the Palestinian territories.

EVFTA to come into effect in a month

HÀ NỘI — The free trade agreement between the European Union and Việt Nam, known as the EVFTA, which was signed on June 30 last year, will enter into force on August 1.

The announcement was made by the European Commission in a notice published on Tuesday.

The EVFTA will abolish 65 per cent of the duties on EU exports to its developing partner, with the remainder phased out over a 10-year period.

The Maritime Safety Administration of China’s Hainan Province has announced plans to hold military exercises near Vietnam’s Paracel Islands from Wednesday to Sunday.

It said on its website that no vessel is allowed to enter the area in the South China Sea, which Vietnam calls the East Sea, when the drills are underway.

Việt Nam lên tiếng về tàu thăm dò Trung Quốc ở Biển Đông

Người phát ngôn Bộ Ngoại giao khẳng định các hoạt động thăm dò, khảo sát tại EEZ cần được sự cho phép của Việt Nam, khi được hỏi về tàu Hải Dương 4 trên Biển Đông.

“Các hoạt động thăm dò, khảo sát và nghiên cứu khoa học tại các vùng biển của Việt Nam được xác định theo Công ước Liên Hợp Quốc về Luật biển 1982 (UNCLOS) phải được sự đồng ý của Việt Nam theo đúng quy định công ước này”, người phát ngôn Bộ Ngoại giao Lê Thị Thu Hằng nói trong họp báo chiều nay.

Tuyên bố được bà Hằng đưa ra khi được hỏi về thông tin tàu thăm dò Hải dương 4 của Trung Quốc đi vào Vùng Đặc quyền Kinh tế (EEZ) của Việt Nam.

Các nhóm biện pháp chống Covid-19 của Việt Nam

Thứ năm, 2/7/2020, 16:11 (GMT+7) VNExpress Tiếp tục kiểm soát nhập cảnh, duy trì sẵn sàng các đội phản ứng nhanh… là các biện pháp phòng, chống dịch của Việt Nam để thực hiện mục tiêu kép. Báo cáo cập nhật tình hình và các biện pháp phòng, chống dịch Covid-19 phục vụ hội nghị Chính phủ với các địa phương ngày 2/7, Bộ Y tế nhận định, Việt Nam đang phải đối mặt với làn sóng dịch thứ hai nếu xảy ra các ca lây nhiễm tại cộng đồng do bỏ sót các trường hợp nhập cảnh mắc bệnh, hoặc các bệnh nhân nhiễm bệnh nhưng không có triệu chứng trong cộng đồng.

Trong bối cảnh đó, Việt Nam đứng trước sức ép rất lớn, một mặt phải giữ an toàn trong nước, mặt khác không thể đóng cửa, vì phải đưa công dân bị kẹt ở nước ngoài về nước, cũng như đón các chuyên gia, nhà đầu tư nước ngoài vào làm việc, xúc tiến thương mại, hợp tác làm ăn.
