Question: Do the Vietnamese think their country is in Northeast Asia (East Asia) and not Southeast Asia?

Answer: The majority of the Vietnamese know their country has frequently joined the Southeast Asian game “Seagame”. Recently, Vietnam become a host of the 31st Seagame in Hanoi City.

The majority of the people have well-known their region -Southeast Asia with many sports events has happened for years. Singapore, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Phillippines, Brunei, Malaysia, together Vietnam are members of the ASEAN organization and Timor Leste, the Youngest state in Southeast Asia will soon join the ASEAN shortly. No doubt that Vietnam is in Southeast Asia, not Northeast Asia (China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, North Korea, Mongolia) spite sharing a lot of cultural similarities with many Northeast Asian countries.
