Dear Brothers and Sisters,
All the masters of the world teach us to love all people, regardless of who they are – good, bad, ugly, saint, murderer… And we are talking about all people in the whole world.
Can we shrink it down to a smaller scale, to make the idea more concrete and easier to fathom?
Can we just say: Love all Vietnam’s people, regardless of who they are – good, bad, ugly, saint, murderer…?
Remember, love is one thing, education is a different thing. Education sometimes requires punishment, just like parents love their children, and sometimes punish them to teach them something. In addition, the laws of the land need to be observed and enforced.
Can we try to love all Vietnamese?
The more people love one another, the stronger the country is. A country full of love will develop extremely fast.
That is a simple reason to love everyone in the nation.
But, remember, loving your people doesn’t mean hating the peoples of other countries. We love our people as a practice lesson, to love all the peoples of the world.
With compassion,
Hoành
