Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Do our Vietnamese culture, music, poetry, literature, philosophies, fashion, movies… affect other countries as much as Japan, South Korea, US, China… affect the world?
If your answer is “no,” then we have a problem, don’t we?
We have a four-thousand-year civilization. That is very old, compared with US, a 300-year-old baby.
We have been very slow and behind the world for four thousand years.
How many thousand years more do you want to see Vietnam continue moving at the turtle pace?
We need to develop Vietnam into a power house – politically, economically, militarily, diplomatically, culturally, literarily…
We’ve got work cut out for us, folks – each one of us.
Don’t run away from the challenge as an irresponsible coward. Each of us need to be a soldier and a hero for our country, and for future generations of our descendants.
Work hard, to lift the motherland up.
With compassion,
Hoành
